Sonic Lost World doesn't really suck, even though people still adamantly refuse to believe anything that isn't the Sonic Cycle (start with Unleashed or Colors to try seeing how far the series has come if you really do think all 3D Sonic games suck, or at least play Generations dammit). It's got issues, it's got flaws, yeah. The level design later in the game varies wildly, with the first act of each zone generally being pretty good before gimmicks start bleeding into bloody everything. The difficulty spikes all over the place, although now you get lives for every 100 rings, so that should fix some balance issues. The parkour and platforming physics are finicky, and the parkour itself is criminally underutilized unless you go for Red Rings as well as obnoxiously unexplained. You can control all but the Rhythm Wisp with the normal Gamepad controls now, but even with that fix they're just shoehorned in and either available for skipping parkour segments, being mandatory to progress two or three times, or just.. There. But it's still an enjoyable game, if not a very obvious 'throw everything at the dart board and see what sticks' sort of transition title like Unleashed was. Most of my issues really stem from things the Colors devs keep doing, like stages entirely built around gimmicks and trying to make Wisps a series-standard thing for no real reason.
For a while, they even said they wanted to try the Werehog again after Unleashed came out. I think they are probably trying to some all encompassing gimmick to use in the future, like how the Mario series struck gold with the Galaxy/Space theme.
The difficulty spikes all over the place, although now you get lives for every 100 rings, so that should fix some balance issues
Last time I checked this wasn't the case.
Why do people keep claiming that Sonic's one of those series with a line of terrible game after terrible game. There are only a few games I'd actually say "yeah, that was a bit of a bad idea" at, like Sonic 06, Sonic & the Black Knight, and Shadow the Hedgehog, the last one only had bad theming, going for an "edgy" feel. Unleashed's only flaw was the surplus of werehog levels. Sonic is hardly a terrible series, imo.
I miss the days where Mario and Sonic were utter rivals.
They both pale in comparison to Ty.
Last time I checked this wasn't the case.
There was a patch a week or so ago that made it so all but the Rhythm Wisp were controllable with the Gamepad, gives you 10 lives by default instead of 5, lets you get a life every 100 rings, and so forth. Not sure why that last one wasn't in the game by default, considering it's been there since the first damn game, but whatever.

Now the Wii has both come and gone and we have yet to see any news since. GG Krome.

I really hate how everybody is so quick to list every bad Sonic spin-off but nobody mentions the Riders games, I love the first two! (Haven't tried Free Riders, and I probably never will) They felt really fresh because they were pretty much the only over-the-top, competitive racing games that didn't not blatantly rip off Mario Kart. Zero Gravity felt like a step down because all of the mechanics were simplified to a degree and not much was added to compensate for that, but it's still a great game in it's own right. And, well, I'm sure Free Riders would've been amazing hadn't it been kinect-only, since from what I've seen it took the best elements from the previous two games.
I don't understand why Nintendo has been doing so much cross-licencing with Sega. Aren't the two companies competitors? If so, they must be worried about the market outside of Japan for long term competitors to join up like this so often.
From Sega's twitter from last September: This should answer your question.
A Sonic character has to appear in the next main Mario game now
A Sonic character has to appear in the next main Mario game now
Super Mario & Sonic World 3D
gaming sure has changed eh. Nintendo and Sega used to be the biggest rivals, but now there's stuff like this. if you had shown this to people back in the early 90's they would have shit themselves
