• Hillary Clinton says primary race against Sanders is 'done'

Bernie running as an independent is straight up suicide for him and the DNC and a guaranteed win for Trump No he won't win and won't even come close and I would instantly lose respect for him
Clinton vs trump is the most grim thing I could ever imagine, RIP America
Watching Trump tear clinton to shreds and then win will be the most glorious thing.
At this point I'd say he owes his supporters to run as independent. Giving up would be spitting them in the face after all the money & support they've given.
He ran for a democratic nomination, he hasn't ever said he would run as a third party candidate. Handing trump the nomination would be retarded for his cause.

And the movement he started will continue and affect all future elections. If he quits now the whole movement dies.
If I can't vote Sanders I won't vote a liar or a sausage-fingered-carrot and that is that for me

well I already mailed my ballot for the california primary and voted for Colonel Sanders.
By having classified information on her unprotected email server, she betrays the countries trust. Treason.
I despise Hillary Clinton but to call her a traitor is a huge stretch. There are far more concrete things to criticize her for.
If Sanders runs it will basically be Trump vs Sanders, much better than Trump vs Clinton.
I think you're underestimating how many Clinton supporters are locked in for Clinton and wouldn't vote for either man in a three-way race. It's really a die roll and Bernie running indy and pulling out a win is the long odds. There's also the problem that if no single candidate hits threshold Congress gets to decide instead. A Republican-dominated Congress.
Running and getting a good chunk of the voters will send a strong message that will be talked about for decades. And the movement he started will continue and affect all future elections. If he quits now the whole movement dies.
If his message is that third-party candidate voting threatens the system, then you can expect the parties to respond by doing everything they legally can to squash independents in their cribs during the 2020 election cycle rather than letting them hop onto a party bandwagon for name recognition and official campaign support the way Sanders put himself on the DNC candidacy ballot. If democracy threatens the system, democracy will be curtailed by the system. If Sanders doesn't win, the stage is set for the money in politics to push Trump or Hillary (both the quintessential face of big business for different reasons) into giving them even more control instead of The People having that control. If the ballot box fails, the ammo box is close at hand, but if the remote is even closer and American Idol's on, we may be watching the fall of the empire.

She knew she was going to be the nominee before she even got in the race because this entire election process has been rigged in her favor from the beginning. Asides from the massive accounts of voter disenfranchisement, these voters have no clue what they're actually voting for because mainstream media can't do their fucking jobs and expose her corruption while at the same time covering Bernie Sanders as little as possible...
If Sanders runs it will basically be Trump vs Sanders, much better than Trump vs Clinton. [editline]19th May 2016[/editline] Running and getting a good chunk of the voters will send a strong message that will be talked about for decades. And the movement he started will continue and affect all future elections. If he quits now the whole movement dies.
Look, man, I'm a bigger Sanders fan than most people and I've dedicated a lot of my own time to his campaign. I worked with the state democratic party to get more caucus locations, I phonebanked, I facebanked, I brought him up to most political discussions, I worked as much as I was able to. I took a six hour car ride to the next state over in the middle of the night to canvas. If Bernie Sanders runs independent, Trump will win. We've seen this played out in history time and time again. Hillary supporters won't "jump ship" for an independent candidate. Lifetime democrats won't jump ship. Even if 80% of Hillary supporters (which is an absurdly high number), who have been voting for her throughout the entire primary season, decided to jump ship and support Sanders the moment he decided to run independent (when they haven't for literally months now), Trump would win. Why? Because that 20% Hillary fanbase left over would be enough to throw the election. In a more realistic situation, Bernie pulls ~40% of the dem/independent voter base (likely way less because of strategic voters who will vote Hillary to avoid Trump). Boom - Hillary loses 40% of her vote, and Trump is still holding up with nearly 100% of the GOP base. Sanders owes nobody to run independent. At the very beginning of his campaign, he outright refused to run independent. Sanders will likely end up endorsing Hillary because more than anything else he doesn't want to see an infant like Trump in the White House. Sanders running independent isn't a way to steal the election. It would be him sabotaging the Democratic party and basically spreading his asshole wide for Trump to slam into. If Bernie ran independent, I would lose every ounce of respect I have for him. That would be the most selfish, idiotic, flip-floppy, bullshit possible thing Bernie could pull, and I would actively campaign against him if he chose to do that.
Reminder that orgornot is an unabashed Trump supporter so when he says Bernie going independent is a good idea, he means it's good for a Trump victory.
By having classified information on her unprotected email server, she betrays the countries trust. Treason.

She committed treason by having a unsecure email server full of classified shit. it doesn't matter if she gave it to someone.
You have literally no idea what you are talking about

I mean, it just feels misplaced
It is definitely not treason, though there are other legal implications for the mishandling of classified information. Treason has a very strict definition and is actually defined in the Constitution itself
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
None of which Hillary committed. If anything I assume by this point she'll be pardoned since the other likely outcome would be she's fined and put on probation from classified material (but probably won't happen since as President if she wins it's pretty much mandatory to have access to classified material). If pardoning Hillary is the alternative to Republican Trump taking the Presidency then I can't imagine Obama not pardoning her.
If we can call the primary now, we can call the general now too. President Trump it is. Is that what you want, DNC?
If we can call the primary now, we can call the general now too. President Trump it is. Is that what you want, DNC?
The Democratic Primary is locked down. This is no feasible way for Sanders to win, that's just how it is.
Can you cite that please?
Apparently no, he can't. [editline]19 May 2016[/editline] Just so we're clear, the Bush email scandal was a separate event that happened back in 2007. It had nothing to do with Clinton. trump is basically the antichrist. hillary isn't a whole lot better but she is far from being the worst, and i don't understand why people who love Bernie would vote for someone who is his opposite.

A large number of republican voters hate him. Independents prefer Sanders over Trump and Trump over Clinton. He has a much greater favorability than both of them. So he could very well win the majority of votes in most states. As for the strategic voting thing, it would actually help Sanders. When polls start showing that Sanders' party would get maybe even more votes than the democrats, that's when democratic voters will start jumping ship. Because they are afraid of Trump. Worst comes to worst, he could just pussy out and cancel his campaign towards the end.
Your leaning towards Trump because Bernie and he share a few policys as opposed to Clinton and Bernie who share most?
I think Clinton is devoid of skills and would be at best mediocre. I rather vote for someone who is passionate about the country they serve then someone that seems to sell out to other interests. I honestly think Trump has some good ideas while is horrible at presenting himself, you don't need to tell me he presents himself as a ass, but I think people on here need to realize Trump does international deals is about as racist as a non-PC parent. At worst he gets gridlocked in the senate and people will get more involved with the political process next time.
Clinton will win. It's already been bought and paid for unfortunately. She will also get away with the email thing as well, even though if it had been anyone else who had done it they would have been arrested and executed immediately.
Bernie running as an independent would be an incredibly risky move, but there's the chance that enough Republicans who would rather kill themselves than vote for Trump would vote for him, and his supporters among the Democrats would immediately follow him and leave the DNC in the dust. If Bernie could take the center path between a criminal chameleon and a racist hairpiece and actually get media coverage for it instead of them being effectively Hillary shills, we could see a coalition pushing him to victory over the other two. On the other hand, if that doesn't happen, hello President Tweedle-dum or President Tweedle-dee.
Uh, no. Just no. There are maybe 2 real republicans in the entire nation who would vote for Bernie over Trump.
