They're in the money for now, but they have so many games coming down the road on so many platforms that it's ridiculous.
TWD: Season 3
Tales From the Borderlands Season 1
Game of Thrones Season 1
Minecraft: Story Mode
Lionsgate projects
Xb360, PS3, PS4, XBO, iOS, PC, Vita, Kindle Fire, OS X, Android
Then consider the bugs that already plague Telltale games like saves not importing, freezes and crashes, or the constant animation glitches. Article on it.
Telltale is trying to work on all these projects and get them out the door, but people are going to get tired of buggy releases.
Nobody knows that better than rice-a-roni, who brought EA's game quality back up from 2007 - 2012 before leaving after BF4 and Sim City fucked up in 2013.
Honestly I've never experienced any issues with telltale games, heck most of the time I play them in wine.
Also what is this Minecraft story project thing? It's the first time I've heard of Telltale this.

all i want is a classic adventure game with puzzles and shit again or at least something interesting and experimental like poker night
i'm so tired of these DEEP MORAL CHOICES they just don't mean anything anymore
You know, I used to hate this guy, but his reputation goes farther than just making microtransactions.
He became CEO of EA back when they were not doing well, like at all. They were losing money fast and were not prepared at all for digital retail like Steam. He basically made EA what it is today, which has good and bad things about it. But one thing is for certain, they are not losing money anymore, that is for damn sure.
He's not a bad CEO, that's an inaccurate way to describe who he is. What he is, is an effective CEO, which in some cases has pissed people off, while at the same time being successful.
He's one member of a board of CEOs, learn how a fucking company works.
There's only one CEO. They answer to the Board of Directors, who's leader is the Chairman of the Board. In a corporation, the CEO, along with the other executive officers like the COO, CTO, CFO, CIO, etc, their job is to make the company run as efficiently and profitable as possible. The board represents the shareholders and if they suddenly decide that it's best for Telltale's shareholders to suddenly start producing eggs, the CEO has to start producing EGGs. If they don't do this, the board can fire them.
Riccitello on the board means he will have a fraction of power and say in what the company does, but the Chairman can always overrule him.
Every Telltale game dialog scene now gets a 1 dollar premium option that makes everyone happy and keeps everyone safe.
he should work at a company more suited for him and his business mentality
like zynga
It's also why a lot of people keep their company private. Because while going public will get you a lot more money. You're putting the power and say of the company to the public, who's only concern is making money off you. Example: PETA is slowly buying shares of SeaWorld. Once they have a majority, they will own it and will be able to shut it down from the inside, and the companies founders and executives can only watch.

Sam and Max, season 1,2 and 3

Telltale is privately owned and relies on investors. They don't have to answer to shareholders.
he's CEO of unity... last time i checked it's an incredible piece of kit with an excellent business model
and he didn't turn EA into a steaming pile of shit - he did the opposite. he left before the SimCity bullshit but in his run he took the company from being an absolute joke to being responsible for games like Mirror's Edge and BF3. in his time there EA made some of its most dangerous decisions and came out better for it
They made some of the best decisions in hindsight but Mirror's Edge didn't sell as well as they thought it would and a lot of his business decisions didn't work either. He also was the one to intervene and save Brutal Legend.
Riccitiello is a cool guy if you look at his history.
Sam and Max, season 1,2 and 3
sam and max season 3 is probably my favorite of all time and it left me hype as fuck for the next adventure game to come
turned out it was the last one telltale would make for years and i'm a bit frustrated by that
So does this make them RiccitielloTale Games now?

Sam and Max Seasons 1 and 2 were some of the very best comedy I've ever seen in anything, let alone a video game. Then in Season 3, they decided to make me cry instead. I cried at the end of that game, and I didn't cry at the end of The Walking Dead. That's how much it got to me.

Yeah, same.
Sam & Max Season 3's end was effective because it was such an utter sucker punch. When something bad happens in TWD, I mean... You expect it. That was the only time they did something like that in Sam & Max, while it felt like TWD forced you into a torturous, morally grey sacrifice every other episode and it lost effect really, really quickly.
that fucking picture on the op its like his out looking for his next soul to devour
Yeah, same.

tbh it was really, really obvious that they were going to [sp]cop out and bring him back to life. And they did it in such a deus ex machina way, too. That really took away the effect for me.[/sp]

[sp]But not at all! He's still totally dead, the Max that came back essentially became a separate character when they fucked around with the time machine in Chariots of the Dogs. It was a great ending. The fact that the other Max went through pretty much the same thing Sam did, with his best friend turning into a giant monster and getting killed, made it like they weren't really reunited, but they weren't alone either. It wouldn't really be Sam and Max without that kind of fuckery, but regardless of the final outcome, you could feel Sam's pain, and it was brilliantly executed.[/sp]

[sp]Well if you consider the alternate timeline Max to be separate character, there's basically no opportunity for a season 4. Either it's effectively the same Max from a barely differing timeline that they deus ex machina'd in, removing all consequences of the ending, or it's a separate character that would behave differently than the Max and thus would remove the Sam and Max dynamic. Either way, bringing back Max seemed like a really obvious and forced move.[/sp]
But really I'm just bitter that they didn't include an arrangement of City Streets that was all hectic like the first two games. It would've been perfect for episode 5.

At least they went out on a high note for their last adventure title. Devil's Playhouse will always be a classic.
Granted I think people need to calm the fuck down about him joining TTG's board. TTG will be fine it it's current state, though I can also understand some peoples fear about John. I mean, you'd have to be pretty fucking evil to say shit like this.

From the thread title I briefly thought Elon Musk was joining Telltale.
Now I'm disappointed.
