Jesus fucking Christ, how many of you people did not read the article? The amount of you thinking it's petroleum is astounding.
Isn't that really not very plausible though? The distance from Iceland to Europe is a lot of water and it'd probably fuck up ships somehow. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not really an expert on the matter.
It's the most pluasible American-European pipeline route that doesn't involve going through Russia, really. It's also probably hard to tell due to the line width, but the kink from Iceland to the UK is intentional: the path I traced would go through the Faroe Islands.

The continental shelf in between Iceland, Faroe and the UK is mostly shallow relative to the open ocean's depths, and the distance it'd need to cross non-continental shelf waters is minute compared to other routes.

car trade in programs are the worst things you can possibly do. Unlike you, there is a HUGE enthusiast crowd out there for cars, and like cash for clunkers proved, non-enthusiasts didn't give a fuck what they traded in. some very, very valuable and rare cars were traded in, as i'm about to show:
1987 Buick ASC GNX
1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante
1997 Bentley Continental R
1989 20th Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am
1992 GMC Typhoon (no!)
1985 Audi Quattro
1992 BMW 850i
2006 Audi A4 Convertible
2006 Cadillac STS
2008 Foose F-150
2007 GMC Acadias
2006 Nissan 350Z Roadster
2006 Roush Stage 3 F-150
2006 Toyota Corolla
2005 Mazda RX-8
1988 Aurora Cobra kit car
1996 Buick Funeral Coaches/Hearses
1987 Duntov GT
1987 Excalibur Autos Phaeton
1985 Maserati Quattroporte
1999 Mercedes C43 AMG
1985 TVR 280i convertible
If you dont recognize these cars, then you dont understand why car trade in programs are bad.

Spoken like someone that doesn't have a vehicle worth a shit.
Do we even drill our own gas?
I don't want my gas prices to go way up. They should just get gas like they used to. Probably will since the companies love money.
