I don't know about you guys, but I've always enjoyed GTA games much more on XBox / PS3. I guess it's because when I got into the series, it was with San Andreas on my PS2.
Playing it on PC just doesn't feel right.
Plug a pad into your PC and it feels exactly the same...only with mods. That's how I played IV. Played SA with keyboard since it doesn't have native pad support, though.
wow rock* how could u do this................fuck off an dye
I do have an xbox but that doesn't mean I'll be bying this for xbox.
I'll wait until pc comes out, or I won't buy at all.
At a steam sale.
50-75%
Because you see when the pc version is coming out at the same time as console (or a week or two after) I'll buy it full price, when it doesn't, I'll wait and buy when it's cheap.

There are a few mods that help with that issue :P
Hell, I'd even settle for a shitty port.
Which is good, because that's probably what it would be anyways.
Welp, this is why I own an Xbox too.
I own an xbox, but I can't be assed to hook it up and wait around for the moment no TV usage, nor can I be assed to pay 50 bucks again for when the PC version finally comes out.
They should just get some other company to port it over, it's not like rockstar is strapped for cash. Not that it would even matter since so many people would rather play it on the PC
NO idea why they did this.
With GTA IV is was still a means to sell more Xbox and PS3 units.
Rockstar probably had deals with Sony and Microsoft.
But damn... current consoles are going to be replaced in the not too distant future.
Why not release PC alongside, or within a relatively short timeframe.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.
I didn't play RDR either because of this stupid shit.
Well it sucks that there will be no pc verions upon release, however i will still happily buy it on a console as Grand Theft Auto is always worth it. I will also gladly rebuy it when it is released on the pc.
Then I am keeping my money and rockstar can keep their stinking game.
"it's not on my preferred platform, GAME AUTOMATICALLY SUCKS 0/10"
God you guys are whiners. I've been a long term fanboy fan of the series fromthe very start, i grew up playing them on consoles and moved over to pc's. The GTA's always feel more natural on console anyway with the controller scheme and the only thing that the pc has over that is superior graphics. Now though you can hook a controller up to pc's and play it more comfotably but in the mean time, i'm still fine with playing it on PS3.
GTA is worth it.
If it comes out in spring for consoles, I predict that pc version will come out in autumn.

it means that the pc version will be a shitty dx9 port that runs awful and was built for shitty 7 year old hardware limits. plus all that social drm bullshit
getting it on xbox

Rockstar knows how to port now. Have you played Max Payne 3?
I firmly believe that a PC version is going to be released at a later date. It hasn't been confirmed, but they haven't said flat out that there isn't one either.
Here's hoping.
No inital PC port?, luckily i have both a PC and PS3.

They did same with GTA4.. Don't know what the fuss is about.
I'm sure Rock* is trying to figure out a new PC DRM.
To be honest, as annoying as a lack of initial PC release may be, it isn't too difficult to just wait it out and forget about the game, then get hyped once they mention they're bringing it to Steam at a later date. Even if they don't do it for over a year, chances are it'll be as a bundle with the destined DLC that will come out for GTAV, which I have more than enough patience for. Pay more, get earlier time with the game. Pay less, get more game, play it at a later date.
Though I do understand that it's kind of absurd that they're still doing this.
eh, I can wait.
Just hope they don't pull a Red Dead on us and neverrrr release it
I don't see why them apparently don't care much for the PC market, Car mods alone basically extended the life of san andreas, not even starting on every other mod for the game

It depends entirely on what studio is developing it. There's no just one single all-knowing rockstar games studio.
The Edinburgh studio is developing this one again, while the Vancouver studio did Max Payne 3, so for all we know the PC version could be non-existence and/or a completely ass port.

Not to mention, MP3's PC version was essentially designed "alongside" the console versions IIRC, so it technically wasn't even a port. This, on the other hand, will be built around two very specific sets of hardware, and then ported to the much broader range of hardware that PCs have to offer with a high probability of little in the ways of optimization or testing.
Yes, they might have more experience with the engine now, but I still remain skeptical about it, especially after GTA IV became a massive disaster of a port and them seemingly learning nothing from the outrage that IV caused in the PC community (since they needed to be talked into even acknowledging the PC community, and even then it was just a short "We're focusing on consoles and can't say much about a PC version" statement).
I'll admit Max Payne 3 was a pretty good port, but that was made by Rockstar Vancouver, LA Noire was iffy, but it was made by Bondi and Rockstar Leeds. GTA V is being made by Rockstar North, responsible for GTA IV and the never-released-for-pc Red Dead Redemption, but Rockstar North didn't even port GTA IV themselves- they got Rockstar Toronto to port it for them. As far as we can tell, there has yet to be a good port of a game developed mainly by Rockstar North using their RAGE engine.
Rockstar said in a Q&A thing awhile ago that Rockstar Toronto won't be doing any more PC ports.
[editline]31st October 2012[/editline]
While Max Payne 3's version of the RAGE engine is much better with optimization, it also has a ton of tricks to make it run better strictly because it's a linear game with smaller levels.
LA Noire also wasn't on RAGE and had a 30 FPS cap because of the face capture thing being captured at 30 FPS.
I'm really disappointed with the lack of PC, lucky I have a 360 but for the people that don't have a console is kinda unfair and also stupid just to say go and buy a console for one game. I think Ubisoft and Rockstar are in bed together.
Self proclaimed fanboy telling us its worth it.

Name one horrible full production gta game. I'm not talking about gta advanced.
Rockstar said in a Q&A thing awhile ago that Rockstar Toronto won't be doing any more PC ports.
This could be good and it could be bad, but I don't think this means "No PC version ever". There's a lot of dough that R* could make off of releasing a PC version at some point down the line, and the only GTA games that haven't been on PC are the handheld spinoffs, and they wouldn't ignore the PC market when this is also meant to basically be the biggest GTA project thus far.
Still, shame this almost certainly means that another PC-exclusive theater mode is completely out of the question, and there's no way in hell that they'll be able to put theater mode on consoles unless they're literal magicians.
It's not like there's a huge community for GTA or anything.
GTA:SA was such a failure after all, shows how much of a waste of time developing a good PC version is, who even plays that anymore ?
I have a 360, but I'm going to wait for the PC version, because fuck using a controller.
I have a 360, but I'm going to wait for the PC version, because fuck using a controller.
I have a PS3 and actually like how it plays with the controller. However, the rest of the game is ruined by the 7 year old hardware. I'm not going to be able live with myself trying to play it on console.
im dumy sry
