If Russia want to take it they can.

I just hope there isn't going to be a Civil War. Might be unpleasant for us as neighboring country.
This is a pretty black & white view on it. Compromise can very well not an option. The Ukrainian government greatly wronged its people and it should not expect any sympathy. As well as the people feeling very hateful of the Ukrainian government, anti-revolutionary tactics short of military intervention as of now would be futile. I know if I was in Ukraine fighting, I would be very strongly opposed to having a Russian stronghold in the country. I don't really know the amount of opposition, the militaristic effectiveness of the groups, size of the stronghold, ect, but from what I DO know, I think that compromise is not gonna happen.
You need to remember one important thing. The ukrainian split is basically something like the US north vs south deal. The western areas of Ukraine are very pro-europe, the eastern ones are basically russian. Just look at the most recent elections. The government did wrong many people, but quite a lot of folks also feel it necessary.

It was a really stupid move, seems as it they hadn't even considered how wrong it was. Lots of people did support the government though and I can imagine them feeling hard done by now.
No one is going to war over Ukraine. If Russia want to take it they can.
That's what they said over Belgium, and Czechoslovakia, and Poland.
No one is going to war over Ukraine. If Russia want to take it they can.
Reminds me of what they said about the germans. [editline]24th February 2014[/editline]
That's what they said over Belgium, and Czechoslovakia, and Poland.
Damn you
It should be a logical decision to enter war if they attack Ukraine, should be really time to teach those degenerate Russians a good lesson.
No one is going to war over Ukraine. If Russia want to take it they can.
Alright, just checked Ukraine have close ties with NATO akin too, but not actual membership so likely if Russia did attack NATO would be obliged to help and they have European army treaties so Europe would in someway too be obliged to help assuming of course that the Provence wouldn't be ceded straight away in order to avoid war, a likely scenario in case of attack, or that Russia didn't just buy the Provence which would benefit there diplomatic relations with US and EU in the long run. Of course none of this matter as Russia isn't stupid enough to invade... i hope. On that note They also have a defense treaty with China so there's no way Russia would invade.
Revolution this, revolution that. This answers all questions and reveals the true nature of this conflict.
Of course they wouldn't. Poland is in NATO
Well, tbh in 1939 Poland was in all sorts of alliances and as we all know it didn't helped much. Obv the times are diffrent and we are not at the edge of world war now (hopefully), but I still remain sceptical about it stopping Russia from anything.
I'm not worrying about Russia, actually.
