I believe the porn industry made the money shot the most popular sex act for males in one survey. It's crazy how one industry can practically invent that and make it so popular. It is also really disturbing, considering the subconscious motivation behind comeshots [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] Whats the subconscious motivation behind comeshots? It is not a prejudice, it happens a lot. It certainly is not the norm, I hope.
Whats the subconscious motivation behind comeshots? Also, what do you mean with a lot, do you have any statistics?
I don't know where this prejudice against porn that almost all women in the porn industry are victims that are forced to fuck on camera comes from.
I get where it comes from (obviously there are plenty of cases where women are abused), but I don't get why anyone here would still think that it's true everywhere. Generalizations like that are almost always not universally true. It's really easy to find a counterexample to things like that.
Well, yes, Amateur porn is the exception to the rule, but it's not really what people call to mind when they think "Pornography", same with Gay Porn.
Still leaves the question of tranny, hentai, bestiality and furry porn though. Where do they fit in? [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] Or are we only going to ban porn with female actors?
Still leaves the question of tranny, hentai, bestiality and furry porn though. Where do they fit in?
Good question, though I suspect they'd dislike a lot of hentai for it's portrayal of women
If this ever goes through, I'd be very interested to see how they define porn. I mean, plenty of movies have sex scenes in them, does that make it porn? They'd have to either have extremely clear and impossible to misunderstand definition of porn that will leave a loophole or two or they actually have to view each piece of content to label them as porn or not-porn.
The law will never work and is a stupid idea. I am only glad that it is sparking a discussion on what is wrong with porn and how it should be fixed. [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
Whats the subconscious motivation behind comeshots? Also, what do you mean with a lot, do you have any statistics?
I can find statistics when I get home, bit for now, what I am saying is based on widespread reports of abuse from former porn actresses and people in the industry. And for this I do not have the source with me either, so I can't guarantee it's truth, but the act seems like marking territory in some strange way.
The law will never work and is a stupid idea. I am only glad that it is sparking a discussion on what is wrong with porn and how it should be fixed.
There is nothing wrong with porn, it is the parents that are too lazy to educate their kids. Same with violent video games.
There is nothing wrong with porn, it is the parents that are too lazy to educate their kids. Same with violent video games.
Good of you to ignore the entire thread.
There is nothing wrong with porn, it is the parents that are too lazy to educate their kids. Same with violent video games.
Thats a pretty bold statement. That is almost as ignorant as someone saying that all porn is bad.
And what about gay porn!?
Banned too, since it supports misogynistic elitists who do not allow women to enter their sex life :v:
Good of you to ignore the entire thread.
What is there to ignore? Most posts are about feminists. And you even said
Without proper sex education, many kids will learn what sex is from an industry that continually rapes and exploits injures women. It creates false expectations of what sex is. ... porn is not intrinsically bad, but most porn is made in a way that corrupts our vision of what sex should be: not violence against women.
Guess who should give the sex education to the kids? The parents. And a part of that is telling your kid that the stuff he sees might not truefully represent reality.
Now I'm no expert but in the porn industry women often get paid more than men and it's all consensual with signed contracts lest the producers get sued. How is that mysoginistic?
Thats a pretty bold statement. That is almost as ignorant as someone saying that all porn is bad.
If someone gets raped, it is not pornography anymore. [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
Now I'm no expert but in the porn industry women often get paid more than men and it's all consenual with signed contracts lest the producers get sued. How is that mysoginistic?
It seems that people who say that are mysoginistic themselves, as they don't believe that any woman should have the freedom to think for herself and decide if she wants to make money in the porn business.
If someone gets raped, it is not pornography anymore.
Thats not the only problem with it. Like we've stated it paints an unrealisitic image of secuality for both men and women which perpetuates gender roles. This is especially acidic to younger children. Not to mention the industy itself treats both men and women actors VERY POORLY. Often time lesser known ones are paid next to noyhing and are never given clean or proper peotection. Also rape is sold as porn See: Max Hardcore [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
Now I'm no expert but in the porn industry women often get paid more than men and it's all consensual with signed contracts lest the producers get sued. How is that mysoginistic?
This is the case with better known pornstars, unfortunatley lesser known ones dont often receive all of those luxaries. Thats why the industry required reform, not bans.
Also rape is sold as porn See: Max Hardcore
Correction: that's porn sold as rape, not rape sold as porn, unless someone came out and said the whole thing was non-consensual (it's still disturbing, and rape-themed, but there's a bit of a difference).
Correction: that's porn sold as rape, not rape sold as porn, unless someone came out and said he's a rapist.
Multiple women did. He is in jail now.
There are many, many things that portray things in ways in which it would be very harmful for kids if they learned that the portrayal represented reality. Good thing that kids are usually exposed to a variety of things with different portrayals of reality and on top of that have guidance and education. If they don't have guidance and education and are only exposed to a certain kind of portrayal of reality... Then guess what the problem is. Not any one of the specific kinds of media, eg. porn, but the fact that nobody is taking care of them. This seems obvious to me.
or when someone is called a misogynist
I would be passed out and my liver would fail shortly after.
Multiple women did. He is in jail now.
Can you find me a source that he was tried and jailed for rape? Everything I saw shows him tried and jailed for obscenity charges, and that he's out now and planning on going back to making porn.

In the end the parents have to take care of their child and educate it on it. Some people have fetishes which don't hurt anybody, and they know that it is all fictional. Could you give me a statistics on your claims?
What is there to ignore? Most posts are about feminists. And you even said Guess who should give the sex education to the kids? The parents. And a part of that is telling your kid that the stuff he sees might not truefully represent reality.
You can't trust parents to do that. Many parents would wither say the wrong things or simply say nothing. A comprehensive sexual education class is needed in all elementary or middle schools.
Can you find me a source that he was tried and jailed for rape? Everything I saw shows him tried and jailed for obscenity charges, and that he's out now and planning on going back to making porn.
My apologise it was not rape (it was obscenity), but nonetheless women did come forward feeling personally violated. Also yes he is out now aswell.
Honestly, most of our problems would be solved if we told kids all about sex before they get a chance to be educated through porn.
It paints unrealistic image of sexuality just like movies paint unrealistic characters or how videogames paint unrealistic behaviour. Could you give me a statistics on your claims?
Yes all of those things paint negative images of sexuality and gender roles and the like. Does that excuse it? No. Matter of factly parents AND the industry can be held accountable which I agree with. Also bot many definite statistics that I can pull up on my phone but a quick google search will bring up thousands of personall accounts.
Honestly, most of our problems would be solved if we told kids all about sex before they get a chance to be educated through porn.
Pretty much. There was an article about British teachers a few months ago saying just that, wanting to add porn to sex education so they could point out what's good and not good about it to kids, but the Daily Mail had it's usual "THEY WANT TO WATCH PORN WITH OUR CHILDREN" response. I said similar things there about why porn is not a good way to learn about how to have sex etc there. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1266232
What the fuck does this even mean?
A lot of people who've grown up around porn start acting in sex like in porn actually. I still remember an interview with a fairly well known cougar that actually complained about that. That there had been a marked shift in the way guys behave in bed and generally seem to aproach sex a lot more like porn overall.
Here's a good example of abuse from a company that was supposed to be good http://www.sfweekly.com/2013-02-20/news/sex-workers-allege-endangerment-mistreatment-at-local-porn-company-kink/
This has never felt more appropriate.
or when someone is called a misogynist
Or when the words "check and "privileges" are un-ironically used in close proximity of each other.
Porn is misogynistic, let's ban it because women are too passive to tell the men in their lives not to treat them like pornstars.
Or when the words "check and "privileges" are un-ironically used in close proximity of each other.
Even ironicly its a pretty tired joke (infact its funnier unironicly most ocasions). It's right up there with Sanius Squad.
