just force them to enter in their birthday. anyone under 18 isn't allowed.
it works flawlessly with violent video games.
i hope you guys know that porn actors and actresses get treated like shit sometimes and are forced into doing stuff they dont want to do
we shouldnt ban porn, we should try to fix it
More anti-porn things
Dr. Gail Dines, founding member of Stop Porn Culture - "We are now bringing up a generation of boys on cruel, violent porn and given what we know about how images affect people, this is going to have a profound influence on their sexuality, behaviour and attitudes towards women."
"My first scene was one of the worst experiences of my life. It was very scary. It was a very rough scene. My agent didn't let me know ahead of time... I did it and I was crying and they didn't stop. It was really violent. He was hitting me. It hurt. It scared me more than anything. They wouldn't stop. They just kept rolling."
"Drugs are huge. They're using Viagra. It's unnatural. The girls will be on Xanax and Vicodin." - Sierra Sinn
"People in the porn industry are numb to real life and are like zombies walking around. The abuse that goes on in this industry is completely ridiculous. The way these young ladies are treated is totally sick and brainwashing. I left due to the trauma I experienced even though I was there only a short time." - Jessie Jewels
"I didn’t want to feel the pain of penetration from an over average sized man, being told to freeze in a position until the camera man was happy with his shots was very painful. I had peoples body fluids forced on my face or anywhere else the producer pleased and I had to accept it or else no pay. Sometimes you would get to a gig and the producer would change what the scene was supposed to be to something more intense and again if you didn’t like it, too bad, you did it or no pay." - Elizabeth Rollings
There are more here https://www.shelleylubben.com/ though some of the sources they use are religious in nature (which is the wrong reason to dislike porn).
There is also this examiner article http://www.examiner.com/article/porn-stars-are-abused-and-are-human-trafficking-victims
Honestly, most of our problems would be solved if we told kids all about sex before they get a chance to be educated through porn.
You're going to have to hit them at a pretty young age then boyo
I can understand banning strip clubs.
But if you ban porn probably every guy will ditch Iceland and head somewhere else or end up arrested for having it.
You're going to have to hit them at a pretty young age then boyo
6th grade, maybe earlier? Around 10ish, else parents will think the kids are getting "corrupted"
6th grade, maybe earlier? Around 10ish, else parents will think the kids are getting "corrupted"
They're getting "corrupted" no matter what, so it might as well happen under controlled circumstances instead of stumbling over a family members porn collection
Maybe instead of banning the porn, look after your fucking children
They created the Nanny state to do that.
They created the Nanny state to do that.
unironically using nanny state makes you look stupid.
All the abuses that happen in the porn industry aren't just some bullshit moral guardians made up to ban it, it's a very real issue. "Rookie" actresses get treated like shit and the pay is insignificant. Only the ones that are willing to put up with it and get recognition get decent working conditions and pay.
Wasn't there even a ~hilarious~ efukt video of a casting director berating the shit out of a bunch of girls? It's pretty disgusting.
[editline]HOWEVER[/editline]
Not that banning porn will do any good, though. But it definitely needs fixing.
Then why the hell aren't they busy calling them out on their BS?
If a fringe group was busy dragging a cause I worked hard for through the mud, That would be my first AND top priority.
oh im sorry in what position is "Van-man" from facepunch studios to declare that feminists aren't "calling them out on their BS?"

Guess the porn industry could really use some unions that especially focuses on helping & supporting those wishing to enter the industry.

We need to form a masturbators union and march on Iceland, saying "Our sexual enjoyment is more important than the lives of young women!"
We need to form a masturbators union and march on Iceland, saying "Our sexual enjoyment is more important than the lives of young women!"
How about you don't act like a cunt because it would give these people ammunition to use against you.

I didn't realise porn actress was a potentially fatal occupation.
i showed my girlfriend this article and she was a bit pissed. she likes porn and so do a lot of other women...
"Our sexual enjoyment is more important than the lives of young women!"
Do explain.
I didn't realise porn actress was a potentially fatal occupation.
Loss of life does not simply mean it's loss physically. Also unchecked STDs are a pretty big problem and often leads to serious illness and sometimes death.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting porn itself should be banned or regulated, that wouldn't do shit. It's more about regulating the industry to stop the frequent abuse of the people that work in it and provide them with better working conditions.

Didn't you once say something along the lines of "Real feminists don't contradict other feminists?"

Like, I don't mean to be a dick and if I'm wrong I'm wrong but I could've sworn I saw that somewhere.
Do explain.
I was exaggerating. I do not think being a porn actress is lethal. It is just that a lot of people argue against porn being banned for dumb reasons instead of the right reason, which is that it would be impossible to enforce. There are a lot of well reasoned arguments against a porn ban voiced here, but in many comment sections its just "damn femnazis nanny stater socialists tryin to take away mah porn what are we going to jerk it to think of the men vote ron paul".

Yeah, regulating is almost always better than banning. I think that it is good that people are arguing for a ban, though. It brings about a discussion about how harmful porn can be to people in the industry, and people who look at it.
Same thing with prostitution. People arguing that prostitution should be banned led to me realizing that most prostitution is forced, or human trafficking. There are plenty of reputable brothels with well taken care of prostitutes, just like there are Sasha Grey's and Stoya's who feel empowered by being in the porn industry, but the vast majority of both industries are seedy and abusive as fuck (though human trafficking is leagues worse than the abuse of porn actresses obviously).
Honestly, most of our problems would be solved if we told kids all about sex before they get a chance to be educated through porn.
Well clearly Abstinence-only sex education works. Look at Missouri and those countries in the developing world that have it...
They may have higher rates of Stds, rape and unplanned pregnancy but they have more god power.
before everyone shits on feminism, the article doesn't even mention it once. talk about sensationalist headlines.
even if the article isnt about feminism, the majority of trying to force feminism on males and society is ridiculous and stupid.

the massive hissy fit that everyone throws about feminism is what's ridiculous and stupid.

oh there definitely should be regulations in the porn industries like all other industries. but the article clearly states that there is a movement to censor and ban porn in that country as is evident from this line:
"But, in this small north Atlantic nation, a battle against the multibillion-pound industry is under way and campaigners are calling on the new government to introduce ways to block online pornography."
there is a clear difference between regulating an industry and breaching freedom of speech.
I didn't know you got paid for not doing a job.
Not the point.
I'm saying that most people who decide to get involved in the sex industry aren't doing great financially, and the people running said industry take advantage of this fact by making them do the more "extreme" stuff.
Check out this article, it's a pretty insightful and interesting read on the topic.

oh yeah, I never expressed support for the outright ban of pornography, but at least it creates more discussion around it, which is the first step towards improving it
besides, it's unlikely these people will succeed in banning it
