• Comcast takes the first step in destroying Net Neutrality

There goes net neutrality. Rest assured enough of Congress has been bought and paid for by Comcast that nobody will lift a finger about it.
This would be another great use for the Oh Shit! rating. Bad stuff is just piling up.
I hate having Comcast, but it's either Comcast or dial-up in my area. :smith:
I've had Comcast for so long and daily I get the internet crashing or it being slow as shit; never get this company's service ever. It's the worst I've had. Oh and they've tried to fix it multiple times, I think they're just running my family out of money because they're the fastest internet service we could get in Alabama.
They can do this because they have monopoly in many areas, else they wouldn't attempt shit like this. This is why monopolies can be bad.
That does seem odd.
Comcast can shove a dick in its ear
I've had Comcast for a while. They've been great. My internet's never down because of them, it's usually our router that fucks up and even that's rare But fuck, really!
Just out of curiosity, does everyone where you live have a goatee?
You can complain all you want about comcast.. But something tells me that there is no coincidence that it's now that we're starting to see net neutrality crumble and fall. I hope to god we (people brought up on the internet) will find a way to combat it.
There is no need for government to enforce net neutrality. If any of you honestly think Comcast or any other provider could get away with it without losing significant subscribers you're delusional.
I knew switching from Comcast to Verizon was a good idea :D
If net-neutrality is ever completely lost, I'd create an ISP that allows the freedoms that we currently get with most ISPs today. Everyone will be so fed up with the restrictions of the new system that they'd have no choice but to use mine. I'll make millions!
Even though comcast pulls shit like this they would still be much better than my current internet provider, Suddenlink. Fuck you Suddenlink, Fuck you.
I might be forced to switch to Comcast. Qwest dosen't offer anything over 1.5mbs and now we have 8+ devices at a time in our house using the internet. Fuck you Qwest, upgrade your shitty lines so I can spend more money on you.
Dirty jews!
I have Comcast too. It's fine most of the time except for the more-than-occasional connection problems.
I have Comcast too. It's fine most of the time except for the more-than-occasional connection problems.
So it's not fine at all?
So it's not fine at all?
When we had Verizon the Internet was slow and shit. Comcast is faster than Verizon for us. Dunno why but it is what it is. But charging me to watch, upload or download videos is just :argh:.

So much more respect for Level 3 because of this, and I already though they were great. Glad they didn't give in until there was no other option, and they're clearly still unhappy about it. But they still came through for the end user. I wish L3 had a residential service.
I rarely have problems with Comcast, but this, this is bullshit.

whoa guys chill out I'm a totally nice guy when you get to know me just give it time
For any Comcast users, did your internet go down last night? Because apparently the entire eastern seaboard went down for anyone using Comcast as their internet provider and was off for quite a while, at least for me.
If comcast becomes nazi germany someone else can just make a company that provides internet and make billions.
Guess I'm gonna go with AT&T then once I can afford internet again. Comcast has pretty awesome service in this area though and it was rarely ever down except when we forgot to pay the bill on time.
Comcast is the best what are you guys talking about
Sorry for you guys, but comcast has been good to my parents and I. I mean, we get like 16mbps on a constant rate, it's never down, my mom watches T.V and is on the phone all the time so we get our money's worth. I guess that's because we live in a populated suburban area and not like an apartment where you have to share internet or something.
I have comcast and I think it's pretty good; I don't pay for it or anything. I've haven't had much downtime with it at all.

If one ISP keeps offering the web unrestricted and cheaply enough, everyone (who cares) within reach is going to go with them, which will cause them to grow, and expand. Thus allowing more people in other areas to get cheap unrestricted internet, etc etc until the other companies either back off or lose profits. If anything, Government mandated net-neutrality is what should be worried about. Sometimes it seems like they're already moving in that direction, under the guise of anti-piracy.
