The Ottoman nation greets you, stranger! I am Suleiman!
definitely DEFINITELY not our problem
Well it is actually, Egypt holds the Suez Canal, the only access to the Red Sea without having to go all the way around Africa. If an anti-west guy gets on power he can simply close the Canal. Hello higher oil prices and possibly one more Suez Crisis.
I wouldn't say 'a lot' better.
Ask people in Latin America, or during McCarthy era.

Both countries fucked over millions upon millions of people.
There were no good guys, and no real concept of 'better'.
That said, I'm happy with the way things turned out.
No global nuclear war, at least!
I would say the US was better since we practically rebuilt most of Europe.
I gotta say I'm sick of my country thinking that we need to be a part of everything in the world. Report on it sure, don't intervene. Just make relations with the new formed government when the time comes.

Point me to the line where it says we're intervening in anything.
Go on, I can wait. :colbert:

What?
Do you get angry when countries make comment on disasters that occur in the United States?
Shut up. Stop with the stupid logic. The United States saying they want X isn't the same as them being in the country and installing a person.

Exactly the point I was trying to make.

The US isn't saying "They want X", the US is saying that "They support X".
Massive difference.
If the US is saying that they support Omar Suleiman, they're sticking their nose in.
Just let me run that damn country.

I fail to see a massive difference between those two statements.
"We support Suleiman as the leader of the transition process" =/= "We're sending troops and money into Egypt to install Suleiman in a permanent seat of power." I'm sure plenty of other countries support one of the major Egyptian players, why can't the US?
