yet another 'drug war' related unnecessary death. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
Ugh whatever happened to SWAT being there to save lives, not take them?
It seems SWAT never does anything other than raid harmless homes and kill innocent people. Of course that's going by recent news.
In hindsight, to be perfectly fair, it probably wasn't a good idea to be brandishing a rifle in the faces of the officers who ran in the house either...
marijuana (which I assume is what they were searching for) harms literally nobody. they killed a man for allegedly possessing a fucking plant. now imagine that coffee was illegal. arguably, coffee has more harmful long-term effects than marijuana does. but you don't see them busting down doors and shooting people for possessing a bag of coffee (or cigarettes, alcohol, salt, sugar...)
yes it was a perfectly good idea because he was protecting his family from what he thought were home intruders, dumbass.
He wound up getting himself killed and didn't even need to bother to try and protect anyone to begin with. How the hell was it a good idea?
the safety was on anyway
The SWAT group didn't know that when they fired. They came in, saw him walking at them with a rifle, and shot him.
He wound up getting himself killed and didn't even need to bother to try and protect anyone to begin with. How the hell was it a good idea?
Maybe because he expected it to be 1-2 punks instead of a squad of heavily armed SWAT officers ready to fire at a moment's notice?
okay, thanks for the lecture Dr. Lunchbox. next time somebody busts into my house with a gun, I'm going to fully devote my time to submerging my asshole in vaseline in anticipation for their cocks rather than trying to protect my family
In hindsight, to be perfectly fair, it probably wasn't a good idea to be brandishing a rifle in the faces of the officers who ran in the house either...
He didn't know they were police officers because SWAT are fucking retarded and never announce who they are before they break into people's houses.
In hindsight, to be perfectly fair, it probably wasn't a good idea to be brandishing a rifle in the faces of the officers who ran in the house either...
because he knew it was the SWAT team :downs: from what I read, he had worked a 12 hour shift and was in a deep sleep when he was awoken by his wife who told him that there were men outside with guns. keep in mind that he was just awoken from a heavy sleep and was probably disoriented still. also, from what I read they had experienced a home invasion about a year prior to this incident. I don't think he had any clue that it was the SWAT team. why would he expect a SWAT team to come to his house anyway? he wasn't engaging in any illegal activities.
why would you aim a gun at the swat team anyway thats a recipe for disaster by the way guys i cant read
why would you aim a gun at the swat team anyway thats a recipe for disaster
i miss bad reading
Maybe because he expected it to be 1-2 punks instead of a squad of heavily armed SWAT officers ready to fire at a moment's notice?
His wife woke him and told him there was more than just a couple with weapons. You'd think he'd at least try to verify who they were though before arming himself and going after them. That's the only thing that got him killed; law enforcement officers in general are trained to respond with force to people who are armed with weapons. If you want to be pissy with someone, then do so with the cunts who authorized these raids in the first place- not the team members who shot him; they were just doing what they were told to do. It's true that they made a mistake, but he made a mistake, too.
He didn't know they were police officers because SWAT are fucking retarded and never announce who they are before they break into people's houses.
They do announce it, but they do so just seconds before busting into the door. Though I doubt "police, swat" and hearing your door bust in would completely ring all the bells in your head in time for you to think they aren't intruders.
okay, thanks for the lecture Dr. Lunchbox. next time somebody busts into my house with a gun, I'm going to fully devote my time to submerging my asshole in vaseline in anticipation for their cocks rather than trying to protect my family
Do whatever you want, bro. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
why would you aim a gun at the swat team anyway thats a recipe for disaster
He didn't aim the rifle at them, he just came down with it in his hands and ran into them.
note to the tucson swat: swat 4 is not good reference on how to enter a house
Police said they found about $95,000 in cash, an unspecified amount of marijuan
Yeah I'd say they found something!
Yeah I'd say they found something!
in different houses learn to read
Yeah I'd say they found something!
Same raid operation, different house. He didn't have anything of what they were looking for on him or stashed away with him and his family in their home.

I'm sure that 'unspecified amount' is something like a couple g's someone's kid had
And absolutely nothing will happen to them because our government likes to protect everyone that serves in an armed forces branch (including police and SWAT) to such an extent that it infringes on civilian civil liberties. I am also kind of curious why he just had $95,000 lying around.
It was part of the things got from previous raids, as nothing incriminating was found at the Guerena residence.
Tl;dr version for idiots: The man did nothing wrong, infact, he rushed out to protect his wife and kid from what he thought to be armed invaders. Why? Because no-knock warrants are fucking s-t-u-p-i-d These must've been some very inexperienced officers, or just a poorly funded team which has lead to a lack of training hours.
Did you even watch the video? Siren was used. POLICE - SEARCH WARRANT was yelled numerous times. And when they first stack up on the door an officer leans in, knocks on the door and tries the door to see if it's locked - still while POLICE - SEARCH WARRANT is yelled (Right after the knocking - an officer yells POLICE - SEARCH WARRANT OPEN THE DOOR. What happened after that - however - was a joke. Sloppy tactics and by far one of the worst attempts at an entry I have ever seen. If this guy truly wanted to light them up - he could have. I think it's a tragic thing that happened - but he was given ample warning that it was the police outside and not armed invaders. The SWAT team however - needs to substantially improve their training and tactics.
In hindsight, to be perfectly fair, it probably wasn't a good idea to be brandishing a rifle in the faces of the officers who ran in the house either...
He was a marine. Marines are trained to not think in the face of danger, but to react. Where I come from, those police raiders would've been locked up. Unfortunately, America's jails are too full with people serving life sentences for possession of soft drugs. Priorities.
Wow America get your story straight, first Osama had a gun, then he didn't, first this Ex-Marine shot at the SWAT, then he didn't. I'm actually sick of hearing all your crap America :/
Wow America get your story straight, first Osama had a gun, then he didn't, first this Ex-Marine shot at the SWAT, then he didn't. I'm actually sick of hearing all your crap America :/
Then don't read it.
Siren was used.
for eight seconds, yes. even if they REALIZED it was a siren, I don't think anyone would make the connection between a siren like that and a SWAT team about to raid the house.
And when they first stack up on the door an officer leans in, knocks on the door and tries the door to see if it's locked - still while POLICE - SEARCH WARRANT is yelled (Right after the knocking - an officer yells POLICE - SEARCH WARRANT OPEN THE DOOR.
the occupants of the home didn't necessarily hear what they yelled, and the SWAT team busted down the door like five seconds after yelling. there's no excuse for what the SWAT team did.
And of course there would be massive outrage if it was "Ex-Marine kills SWAT Team during Raid."
Wow, they had to fabricate all these lies to justify the killing of a civilian? The War on Drugs and the lies needs to END NOW. All this senseless violence, death and wasted tax money is only fueling a fire that'll continue to burn everyone around it. All this, because of some Marijuana. Its time for the government to grow up, drop their balls, start admitting their faults, and start dropping their oppressive police state tactics. This shit is getting old.

It's true that they made a mistake, but he made a mistake, too.
Probably would have been better to surround the house, and make a very clear announcement that they are the police, tell the occupants to leave the building one at a time, hands in the air, and then they can storm the house knowing that the occupants have left the house. Logic of this is that the innocent people can follow the orders, and if there are guilty people they can then face the consequences. Even so, serving a warrant to storm a house that was in no way connected to drug dealing what so ever is stupid, how often to SWAT seem to get their 'information' mixed up, they seem to be more intent in just raiding houses as much as possible, even with flawed intelligence.
When shit hits the fan these kinds of cops are going to be targeted more than gang members hell, they ARE gang members
It sickens me that a man who loved his country and family was killed because he instinctively tried to protect his family from a shoddy swat raid. It's even worse that he was painted to be a criminal because he "fired first", even though the safety was still on his gun.
