I don't see why he is receiving the award. So far all he has done is released the equivalent of peoples' private text messages... There has been barely anything on China, Russia or Iran. The only good thing so far was that thing about the Copenhagen conference and the Vatican City covering up the child rape cases.
You are forgetting the actual unarguable good things that Wikileaks have done, mainly prior to the whole War diaries / cablegate thing.

While some of this information is pointless, there's a lot of stuff listed there that has made a difference to the world in one way or another however small (collateral murder, climategate, internet censorship lists and Kaupthing just to name a few).
I also believe (hoping someone will correct me if I am wrong) that something Wikileaks leaked is what triggered people actually caring about the ACTA treaty.
And Wikileaks literally did release peoples private text messages (see 9/11 pager messages).
Awesome.
I think its because they promote peace through their coverage of war things that governments cover up, as opposed to actually creating peace.
Basically they promote honesty and try to lessen world concept through the concept of an open system which is good enough, but this seems more like a political stunt than anything.
Well, glad the peace prize is in Norway, this wouldn't happen in the USA or any of the ass licking nations.

Yeah quite a lot of those are actually really good, but it was disappointing that so much news coverage was on what ambassadors say to each other. Thats private information, but not in the way of stuff that should actually be released. They should pay more attention to the things released that actually make a difference.
