This would be a blessing to receive. If my family won I would be sure to donate to charity every year it's the most anyone can do with that much money to give. Maybe start a scholarship program as well. There's just so much you can do with all that. I would also be able to afford what I want too. My direct family would never have to work again.. Winning this would be a dream come true
Meh, I'd rather earn my way a living then spend it all on gambling. I"ve got better odds at flying to vegas and playing there for two weeks than getting anything from this anyways. I'm not even sure what I'd do to the money. I really can't say I'd desire to completely change my life around or anything, and I'm not exactly rich or anything.

It's like $1 and you don't have the opportunity to spend all of your money on it because they often enforce limits a single person can buy.
Imagine 500 000 000 one dollar hookers or one $500 000 000 hooker.
If I win this, my family and friends win too! Everyones getting a million!
I hope the person who wins this is a Facepuncher who is nice enough to have weekly or monthly competitions here on Facepunch. After they buy whatever the fuck they want and gives some of it to family and/or friends first.

It's gambling like any other, just because the barrier to entry is decivingly low doesn't make it less so.
I'd give to charity, I'd also ask my girlfriend to be my wife, so she could finally have a wonderful life. I would be selfish enough with it, that if we had kids, I could pass off some of it, but not enough to spoil them. The things Iw ould do.
It's up to $640 million. Holy fuck.
I would give most of my money to friends and charity if I won.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/janetnovack/2012/03/30/how-much-tax-will-you-owe-on-540-million-jackpot/ If anyone here does happen to win, I suggest getting yourself a crack team of lawyers and financial advisers to protect you from getting fucked over with the decisions you make with this money. Uncle Sam is going to grab as much of it as they can in taxes.
An hour of sleep and too much caffeine, sue me.
Its funny because reddit posted a facebook post of some idiot saying that same thing, so I wouldnt be surprised if you saw that post and didnt realize it was a joke/troll
I saw on the news that if no one wins today, the next payout will be 950 million. Almost time to change the name to megabillion.
It's 640 Million Now! Holy Fuck.
It's not worth buying any more than 1 ticket. Your odds are so low, any increase in 1 in amazingly minimal.
If you have one ticket and you buy a second, your odds of winning double. If it's not worth buying more than one then it's not worth buying one either.
Just got $40 in tickets. Wish me luck. When's the drawing, and how do I know if I win anything? Not necessarily the jackpot, but can't you win smaller prizes?
If you have one ticket and you buy a second, your odds of winning double. If it's not worth buying more than one then it's not worth buying one either.
Sometimes one is all it takes
My family collectively bought one ticket, just for laughs. If we lose, it's fine because none of us enjoy betting. If we win? Well we all agreed we're going to split 450 million of it between charities.
Why don't you just buy a ticket for every possible outcome?
Why don't you just buy a ticket for every possible outcome?
You can do that if you have the money. Though each state has their limits on how many tickets you can buy. Plus, if someone else draws the winning number, your profits will be slashed in half. If more win, you might end up blowing away a shit ton of money.
if you live in Georgia buy a lot of lottery tickets to help pay for my education!!
Why don't you just buy a ticket for every possible outcome?
I'm pretty sure you have to buy like 176 million tickets. So, unless the net payout after taxes was going to be more than that, it's pointless and you'd just lose money. And then there's the chance that another ticket has that number and you'd definitely be out of a lot of money.

my dad bought a ticket today. would be awesome if we won it
You should be able to see the drawing live on TV, at 11pm(Eastern). There's a chart on this page showing the ways to win, and it'll also have the winning numbers some time after they're drawn: http://www.megamillions.com/numbers/
I saw that. So do the numbers have to be in the same order, or I just have to have some combination of the numbers listed? The website doesn't say. So say they draw 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, do I have to have to have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or could it be 4, 3, 2, 1, 5, 6?
Any combination but the Megaball has to be the same.
So if the balls come out 123456, I have to have 123456 in that order? Holy fuck so if nobody wins tonight, the jackpot will go up to like $975 million. - http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/30/us/mega-millions/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
if I win, I am donating 1/2 to SpaceX
if I win I'm gonna buy the all the railworks DLCs. the leftover money will be burned in a giant bonfire.
You cant make much of a bonfire with 5 dollars
If I win this... I'm buying a few of these: www.missilebases.com
