If I had this ability I'd be calling up James Randi for his million bucks
Ok, so he did actually sexually assault her. Can she press charges based on his public admission?
Tbqf, I think this is more along the lines of sexual assault rather than full on rape, but that is up for judges to decide. What a fuckard, tho.

She's a prison abolitionist, she has no interest in taking it to court.
I really want to believe Michael wouldn't do such a thing but it's looking bad for him. So much for that proof his wife talked about...

If there is proof they probably can't legally release anything right now.

I dont think that it looks bad from an objective point of view. It's clear that the two had sex, the problem is one is saying it was consensual and the other is saying it wasn't. With no evidence it's impossible to know who is telling the truth.
Legally? It's unlikely there's ever going to be a trial, considering the circumstances.
Seems to me like his wife was saying she has undeniable proof of it being slander while also accusing Larkin of harassing them and then got directly contradicted by Michael's statement ("okay so maybe we fucked a little and my family knows about it") after he consulted with his lawyer. Seems iffy. Larkin's story is solid. Perhaps time will tell, but it's looking worse and worse. Not taking any side until more info comes up.
Read through the article, she's got enough background information and can recall exactly what has happened prior, and post events. She shouldn't have any problems dealing with this in court.
To be honest from the background
- both were pretty much blackout drunk
- she perfectly recalls the details - which doesn't work that well with point 1
The problem is that this more or less comes down to a he said she said situation. The story may very well be true, it may very well not be true.
Parts of it may be true, others not
She might even remember the story like this, but being drunk forgot some details.
That's generally one of the problems in situations were both parties are drunk. Your ability to give or understand consent is seriously impeded and unless there's signs of physical trauma very difficult to prove or even verify.
This is more or less of an admission of guilt. Sucks he had to downplay it, but what else do you expect?
.
Remember that consent is iffy while being drunk and that on both sides. Imagine two drunk people meet, let's call them a and b. A gives B consent. Were B sober, B would understand that A is drunk and should not act on this consent. But as B has impaired decision making skills just as A, acts upon this consent.
Later, A rescinds consent and claims they were drunk, thus this is rape.
The problem is B can actually do the same.
The man admitted to there being an affair. But not to raping or assaulting her.
Gira's ex-wife has come out in defending him, claiming "it is shameful what Ms. Grimm has done".

This whole situation really shouldn't piss me off as much as it does, but I knew from the second I heard it that there was some subterfuge going on
