sorry to break it to you techno-fetishists: the digital age is depersonalizing, vacuous, and ultimately detrimental to human understanding and insight. the internet makes you stupid.
literally all of this is false.
literally all of this is false.
Oh. I thought it was metaphorically false
sorry to break it to you techno-fetishists: the digital age is depersonalizing, vacuous, and ultimately detrimental to human understanding and insight. the internet makes you stupid.
I don't see how having the ultimate storage of information at your fingertips making you stupid. Someone who doesn't use internet for learning wouldn't use books for learning. So I don't see how you can deduce such a statement. Were people any smarter when there was no internet? Not at all, the opposite actually.
I guess it's good that I use no social media then.
Lol [editline]29th January 2012[/editline]
sorry to break it to you techno-fetishists: the digital age is depersonalizing, vacuous, and ultimately detrimental to human understanding and insight. the internet makes you stupid.
you could not be more wrong its crazy as shit, do you know how much we, as people, learn from the internet?
develop normal social tendencies
I may be a total misanthrope but what exactly is defined as normal social tendencies? Also, thank you CNN for putting out correlation articles as causation.
Why did they only choose to include girls in the survey?
Probably because females tend to interact more socially than men do, and are far more likely to display emotions in many ways. The female psyche is far more suited to a social exam than the male psyche. In some cases, men are more likely to be straightforwards about what they're feeling, though.
I've pretty much played video games and used the Internet my entire life in my spare time, and I'm not exactly a sweaty underdeveloped nerd with no social skills. I'm gonna say right here that even if they refine this study, it's probably going to not give the results they anticipated.
katawa shoujo is all i need
Next they can try to find out why the sky is blue.
katawa shoujo is all i need
Having sex with cripples teaches me life lessons.
I'm not entirely sure if it's the cause or the result. It could be the result, kids fed up with other kids being absolute douchebags may turn to online interaction as a way to escape the constant bombardment of assholery they face in person. I know I did.
You're using one right now you dolt.
The dictionary definition and the commonly referred to one are two ENTIRELY different things. The meaning he was referring to was shit like Facebook. Forums are not considered social media in that context.
I hate how they used the word "multitasking" COMPLETELY wrong. I mean I thought this article was gonna be about how doing multiple things at once on a PC (multitasking) causes people to be unsocial.
ITT: Denial
Tween girls who spend much of their waking hours switching frantically between YouTube, Facebook, television and text messaging are more likely to develop social problems,
WAIT... you mean like all teenage girls? shit
boys tend to be lone wolves compared to girls
no not really, the word you're looking for is stoic.
