The court heard that Miss Horsman converted to Islam and even changed her name to Aleena Rafiq after meeting the pensioner, more than six times her senior, when she was just 14 years old.

I think I'm going to stop visiting SH entirely until these Middle East/Muslim threads start coming up less often. I feel a deep hatred developing in me for Muslim culture even though I know most of them are probably decent enough people. Every other article these days is about ISIS murdering or raping women and children or other extremists doing equally horrible shit our side of the border.
It just makes me feel sick to my stomach and pretty damn helpless.

I haven't seen any red-haired arabs in my life.
I've seen tons of red-haired Chechens, though.

Not technically Arabs, but North Africa has plenty of gingers, pale skin and all, too.
Not going to lie, like, if somebody did that to my sister I'd beserker rage and probably tear that dude's face off like an angry gorilla. (just like scalping, except you reach the fingers under the forehead skin and yank down hard) I'm going to guess I'd regret it a little bit, but at the same time I'd always have this smug satisfaction that I'd forever be known as the guy who avenged somebody hurting his little sister by tearing off the face of her attacker like a viking warlord. No matter what happens, at least I'd have that.
Oh, and a sweet Halloween mask, I'd have that too.
I don't have any siblings, but if someone did that to any of my friends; they could in the very least expect taking a forest-cleaver to the face.
There are plenty of red haired Arabs. They mainly come from the Levant or Iraq. My grandmother (Lebanese) was red-haired.
This guy isn't a red-head though, he has died his hair which is a common thing in South-East Asia.
Acid attacks aren't common in the Arab world. I've never heard it happening there. IMO it was completely unnecessary to point out the guy is Muslim.

remember: "muslims being regular people" and "majority-population person assaults other majority-population person in usual manner" are not newsworthy stories.
the reason that they report on each of these attacks is because they are uncommon in western countries; if they were happening all the time, the news would have no time to report on all of them.
one illustrative example is how plane crashes are often reported on, and as a result lots of people are suspicious about plane travel. yet planes are the safest form of travel by far, to the point that every time a plane crashes, it's newsworthy. if they reported on every single time a car crash happened, the news would be splattered with death forever.
not to mention SH's relationship with islam is complicated enough to hazard a guess that at least some (not all, but some) of these threads are posted with an agenda in mind.

They must be using Henna to dye their hair. I've seen a lot of Muslims do that. I'm not sure genetic lines allow for gingers to be in places with desert climate and intense sunlight. That'd be hell enough already. :v:

As I've said, us North Africans have plenty of natural gingers and even blonde people around. I'm gonna guess it's because of a germanic layer to our genome either due to Vandals' expeditions into the region world or the conquest of Visigothic Spain.
But yeah, it's pretty obvious his hair's dyed. No way that's natural.

If there is willing consent, then who are you to judge someone else's choice of who they want to be with?

Absolutely no one, I was just expressing surprise at the fact that people seemed more willing to point out his unusual hair colour than the fact that he could be her (possibly even great) grandfather.
