I want a social site that was barebones facebook. Not loaded with fucking app's and games and third party sites to manage all the pages for liking.
Won't last past a year.
But google is leaking privacy like mad
hahahahahahahaha To whome? Themselves? They rarely sell info on people, but when they do it's usually high priority targets or paedofiles (or people who look at shady sites). Either way, it's no-where near as bad as Facebook is right now. Facebook sells peoples information in a heartbeat. [editline]28th June 2011[/editline]
Dear major companies of the world, stop slapping 'social' features onto everything, sincerely, everyone on the internet.
Normal people like to socialize, not everyone is anti-social like you. People also like to be lazy, so socializing from home is really catchy. [editline]28th June 2011[/editline]
Google, please...Just stop.
Why? So far I'm very impressed by Google and how good they are at hiding what they do. So far they've done nothing bad, publicly, and that's all I care about. [editline]28th June 2011[/editline]
When does Google take over the world?
Now.
This is the social network Google has been working on the past few months? I hope it does well.
Even though this is a more realistic approach to how you actually communicate with others, it still seems incredibly dumb.
I hope this goes well for Google, but nothing is going to dethrone Facebook anytime soon unfortunately.
When does Google take over the world?
Google's been leader of the world... ALL ALONG
Why does Google still tries to do this stuff anyway, it never works.
They're doing it because google and facebook have been at odds over the social media plate for a long time now. Instead of the passive aggression from one to the other, they're actually making a move.

Oh Google+ not the same as Hulu+. Really original.
-snip-
The only way I would switch if most of my friends currently on Facebook jumped to this. Otherwise, I don't see a point, even if it is a more innovative service.
Someones gotta make the switch. If everyone stayed on Facebook because no one was on Google+, then no one would go to Google+. Someone has to be the first to make the move. I'll be one of those people just because i'm tired of Facebooks crap.
Haha, what? You think Hulu was the first to append a + to their name? What the fuck?
No it's just Google happened to take this on right after Hulu. Sorry to not know the history of adding pluses to the end of things.
I'm sure Google+ is just a placeholder name. Seeing all those circles on the pictures I wonder if they'll change it too Google Circle?
Truthfully I don't think anything can outdo Facebook, Facebook really has everything that you could want in a social networking site I'd say, at least, it has everything I want.
I'm sure Google+ is just a placeholder name. Seeing all those circles on the pictures I wonder if they'll change it too Google Circle?
GoogOL would work, seeing as it's a real number and all
While it might be a good idea, I doubt it'll get anywhere. Googles social projects never do. Not to mention everyones already using facebook, why move when you have all you need already?
This is crap.
Truthfully I don't think anything can outdo Facebook, Facebook really has everything that you could want in a social networking site I'd say, at least, it has everything I want.
It has everything you want and everything you don't want. They have a lot of things I don't want.
The "I EMAILED SOMEBODY AT VALVE!" thread V.2 "24 Gigabytes!?"
The "I EMAILED SOMEBODY AT VALVE!" thread V.2 "24 Gigabytes!?"
wrong thread perhaps?
I have an invite and I honestly like it way better than Facebook so far. So much more clean.
No wonder now the search criteria bar looks different :v:
Haha, what? You think Hulu was the first to append a + to their name? What the fuck?
Darwinia+ but that was allowed because it was an awesome game.
google+ what? 2?
If it has better security and privacy options than facebook, I'll switch.
Please tell me what's wrong with Facebook privacy options, it gives you the option to restrict all your everything ever.
Please tell me what's wrong with Facebook privacy options, it gives you the option to restrict all your everything ever.
Do you know how easy it is to get around that? Hell, it's harder to shave than get around that.
Google is honestly horrible at social networking.
Why the hell would anybody use this new Google+ thing when the vast majority of people already own a Facebook on which they have already added all of their friends and are used to the way they're already communicating? From what I can tell this doesn't really offer much more than Facebook, at least not enough for a large enough percentage of users to switch over. I don't see this going anywhere and Google should have thought of that during the development of what will soon be another failed project of theirs. That is, unless there's something about it up their sleeves that they have yet to reveal that would completely change the way people communicate and socialize with one another.
