Yep I remember that scene in BoB.
Here it is actually:

He's the one on the left at 1:10 for any of you that haven't seen BoB.
From this day to the ending of the world,
we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
shall be my brother.

Sad to see such a momentous occasion in our history slowly passing from living memory. I must remember to ask my granddad about the RAF and his service history, he told me once that he had quite a few stories to tell me when i was older.
Aw man, he's one of the few people i wanted to meet before they died :C
At least Simo Hayha is still alive.

Wait, he isn't.
Damn.

Do it. You won't regret it. My grandfather told me some stories of his service in the US Navy in the Pacific when I was very young, but he died before I could fully understand or appreciate it. Makes me wonder what I missed out on.
RIP you brave brave man. Thanks for protecting my freedom and the freedom of countless others. You're a real hero. :patriot:
His men needed their commander. He now joins them.

I loved that scene. I hated the next scene where they were singing and that one guy gets shot.
Makes me sad every time.
Damn man, he's a hero, I hate when this happens, but he was at that age.... :smith:
january 2 will now be the saddest day
except we can have parties celebrating the passing of our great hero directly after january 1st so yeah
Whether there is a heaven or a God or none at all, guys like him go to a good place after this life, I am sure of it.

satan's private party lounge
To all the assholes (not surprised at all at gold members) trying to make funnies, I kindly ask you to please shut the fuck up and grow up. If you try to take any humor out of this, you honestly have no idea how great of a man Maj. Winters was. This man will and should absolutely serve as a role model for Americans, both young and old. The traits in the men and women born in his generation are just so hard to find nowadays. RIP Maj. Winters! Rest peacefully with your fellow company of heroes.
Damn, such a shame to see him go, but at least he got to live a pretty long life. I feel like I ought to reread Band of Brothers now.
A very modest man. A true hero.
Man, I just read the book for the fourth time a couple months ago...
I swear, if the Westboro Baptist faggots picket his funeral, I will fucking drive there and shove my KABAR in all of their throats.
Oorah from the Marines, and RIP Major Winters. You won't be forgotten.
I just picked up the book in the Library yesterday as well...
Well...this sucks.

I think the reason they announced his death a week after it happened was so the family could bury him in peace.
The only thing bad is he didn't lived longer. If only he reached at least 100. Goddammit we are losing more and more veterans!
I hate it when people who have great stories die. It's fucking horrible. I would've loved to here how back in his day there was no such thing as color TV and instead he went to war and killed a load of german's and blew up howitzers. Maybe it's because I lost all of my grandparents, save one, but I always miss that textbook, 'grandfather story'.

He's a role model for everyone, not just exclusive to america.
R.I.P. Winters.

90~ years old is pretty good for a man, but I suppose so many of them get there because their bodies know how to endure damage and disease better than the average man.
I just shedded a manly tear.
Where is the funeral located? If I can get there I'll be there in full service dress.
Oh.. they already had a private one. Well.. I would've tried. Pennsylvania wouldn't have been too far from North Carolina.
