Soldiers volunteer to die, green grocers don't.
I'm extremely anti-military, but dude, come the fuck on. Not everyone goes in the military to risk their lives. A lot of them go because it's their only option left. It's a alright-paying job that gets benefits, and that is a huge step compared to what many people have otherwise.
I forget how anti-military FP is. I'm sorry, but if my soldiers are going to be overseas, helping a foreign country. I'm going to care about my nations soldiers more than I am theirs. Just because we don't have conscription doesn't mean that they deserve to die, or willingly be marched into a mine field because they enlisted.
Your soldiers? How are they your soldiers? This isn't even a matter of being anti military, you're just straight up assigning more value to someone's life because they were born in the same country as you (which smacks a bit of racism)

I don't go over to China and go. "These are my policemen." They aren't, because I'm not a Chinese Citizen. And Racism? Please. Now your just being dumb and trying to purposely start an argument.
Seems like blind nationalism to me. Make an informed decision that isn't based upon where you were born.

Every soldier knows that they may be called upon to die in a muddy hole on the other side of the planet because their leaders deem it a worthy cause. I'm not slagging off the military, I was in it once, nor am I wishing death upon all those who put on a uniform. But when a person voluntarily picks up a rifle and a helmet, they are promising to fight and die for their nation. Of course most of that is jingoistic hoo-haw, but that's what they're doing. Even if they only entered the army for college support or to learn a trade.

at what point is firing a missile not considered a test-launch? when it hits something?
i find it hard to sympathize with anyone who didn't join the military out of necessity. any other reason basically boils down to poor decision-making or misplaced nationalism
Or maybe they want to do something that isn't sitting behind a desk all day. People have their reasons to join the military, and none of you guys have the right to judge them.
Man, its like godwin law. Almost every thread that has a hint of the military, there is an argument about the value of the human regarding their position behind a rifle.
Or maybe they want to do something that isn't sitting behind a desk all day.
I'm allowed to judge anybody who charges into someone else's country with a gun in my name.
you get to vote for the people who say if they go or not. you hold some responsibility as a citizen for the actions of your country to a degree
I'm allowed to judge anybody who charges into someone else's country with a gun in my name.
In your name? They do it in the name of their country, not you.
In your name? They do it in the name of their country, not you.
You're apart of your country, you know. Although saying it in as "In my name" is still a bit odd. But as Scoutking said, as a citizen, you hold some responsibility in that regard. Point in case, Vietnam.
What if "my soldiers" are giant tossers who massacre a bunch of civilians? Maybe they deserve to die more than the "enemy".
Then you're likely in North Korea then.
I'm allowed to judge anybody who charges into someone else's country with a gun in my name.
You don't have the right to judge anyone for what they want to do. Unless they want to blow up babys or something.
You don't have the right to judge anyone for what they want to do. Unless they want to blow up babys or something.
an alarming number of western invasions result in exploded infants lets be honest here
an alarming number of western invasions result in exploded infants lets be honest here
Yeah. We have special forces specially trained to go around blowing up babies. ANY Invasion of ANY country will result in civilians death. Not just western countries. You should really get off that media hype train.
Here's to hoping that it doesn't destroy its target, or reach into the sky, or even have catastrophic failure even on the launch pad. Let's hope that their nukes don't even get used! It'd be absolutely horrid if one exploded prematurely and showered all of North Korea's people in radioactive ash. No one deserves that.

The others would probably fall short or overshoot their target based off of the CEP (circle error probable) of their smaller TBMs. However it's hard to assess what their Taepo Dongs will do just based on the failures that they've had in the past. If they don't get their shit together with the ICBMs then I would say they would fail in between stages after launch. Just my two cents though.
