Except instead of explaining why you just call them homophobes and are very very biased about everything
except I do explain why and everyone's biased
But you're very much so, it doesn't matter, I'm just suggesting you cut down on insults...I know it's hard, and I understand, but it makes you look immature.
Well you know what I mean.
I understand your meaning, but in terms of biology, it's normal. unfortunately society has pegged it to be not normal.
pfc. manning gave them these documents
Actually they're heavily suspecting it, though there's nothing concrete last I heard.
Well isn't it revealing names of people involved in spying and helping and stuff? Yeah...
Except we've been through this for who knows how many times; They did the best they could with undermanned and overworked people (under 100 people working on the documents) in order to release them within a reasonable time. They're also currently withholding 15,000 of the total 92,000 documents for further screening. They also asked for US Government for help on censoring the documents, but they just went :downs: You did no such thing, so let us use a quote from the said email :downs: Edit: Except Search is still down so I don't have a link at the moment. And JDK's cool.
i am a happy strawberry
glad im not the only one
What are we even talking about
no, the documents don't need to be released. they are classified for a reason. don't get me wrong, i'd totally support this if it wasn't endangering innocent informants and shit but it is so you know what julian assange can take his wikileaks and shove it.
If what I have read in various news articles then the documents being classified was / is totality pointless as apparently "everyone" (as in soldiers actually on the ground etc) has access to them, including contractors working for the US government. And with regards to the documents endangering lives, they have been in the public domain for a week and a half (more / less?). I am sure that if an "important" informant that was wanted by the Taliban / whoever else might be pissed with them was mentioned (with their location etc) they would be dead and it would have found its way to the media. Its not like the documents released are a list of informants etc being used, releasing something like that would be downright stupid. Most of the reports seem to be "Unit x engaged at location y" (at least the ones that have been picked up upon and mentioned in the news). Although I have also read in the news that there's a few which mention informants and their locations. Apparently Wikileaks has a harm minimization policy and won't release anything that would put people in danger (keyword though is apparently). In my opinion names should have been censored (but then that raises the question of what is the point of releasing documents if you are going to censor them). I think that the 15,000 unreleased documents are the ones that are going to put people at risk (if they get released). Why else would Wikileaks ask the US government to help them reduce the risk by releasing them. Edit: wow, this thread has grown by a page or two since I pressed reply and its gone off discussing something completely different.
wow facepunch politics suck i hate all of you because both sides are forcing their opinions and don't cite any sources unless it makes their dick look bigger
i cite sources...
So do I, but apparently Washington Post is bullshit and the Anti-American Times are infallible.
lol, you thought a website was anti-american because they quoted trotsky and the Washington post is literal trash. It is not very reputable. As I said, many of the journalists i know think it's trash.
