People are still claiming the 1st Amendment to fight against prayer in schools?
Well schools are supposed to be religiously and politically neutral learning facilities where you're allowed to foster your own beliefs without getting it forced down your throat.
ha new video: that last smile would do well for a gif. :v:
ha new video: that last smile would do well for a gif. :v:
"I want to let millions of Americans go without healthcare. I'm Rick Perry, and I approve this message."
I can say that I follow the belief of Christianity as my life guideline However I still think Rick Perry is a bigoted insignificunt that really shouldn't be our leader It is alarming and shocking that there is even a campaign ad like this in 2011
I basically live by the non-ignorant side of Christianity minus all the god and shit. I'm pretty sure a lot of atheists like the "love thy neighbor" and the 10 commandments that don't have shit to do with God makes sense too.
Fucking asshole.
I like Penn Jillette's theory that this recent hard push for fundamentalist Christianity in the US is actually a sign of the death of Christianity. The internet, and information with it, is seeping into every child and causing agnosticism and atheism to expand rapidly. He actually says a lot of interesting stuff. In particular the concept that "Christianity" as a unified front is a new idea (only since the 1960's) is fascinating. Prior to that, the religions were broken down by sects who didn't trust one another any further than they could throw them.
This is possibly one of the most intelligent things I have ever listened to. The man makes a lot of very good, very interesting points, even (no, excuse me, especially) if you're religious.
ha new video: -video snip- that last smile would do well for a gif. :v:
"Barack Obama forced it on the entire nation" Oh my god! He's going to force people to have life saving healthcare?
American politics are funny to watch up here, we get laughs every four years. I remember seeing some dem candidate say that children aren't failures, and that they can't fail. It's not the child's fault they did bad, it's the teacher's and the school's. And now you have this guy comparing gay rights to saying Christmas. I can understand how ridiculous it is at how butt hurt people are when they hear merry Christmas, but why compare it to gay soldiers? Silly yankees, both sides going to the extreme.
I don't think he's stating there is anything with wrong with gays being in the military, he is saying it's wrong that people can't celebrate Christmas openly while they are allowed to do that. But it's a pretty offensive comparison, shouldn't both groups be able to express themselves freely? I really don't mind if people celebrate their religion in the open, and I fail to see how Obama has a "war" against religion. So yes, this is a terrible statement he made. I don't even understand how he thought it was a good idea.

at my school we are allowed to wear santa hats all winter and sometimes people come in with santa costumes on a day or two following/succeeding xmas break
A homophobic presidential candidate, even worse he openly admits it in a commercial. Only in America...
Well schools are supposed to be religiously and politically neutral learning facilities where you're allowed to foster your own beliefs without getting it forced down your throat.
Ah, I see. That's why they don't let kids pray there, otherwise they might... foster their own beliefs.
Even I consider myself to be more conservative than liberal and I fucking hate Perry. He's a dumb, idiotic shithole that makes us look bad.
hehehe
I just realized... How is that even possible? Likes are probably in real time. Views I guess update periodically.
Ah, I see. That's why they don't let kids pray there, otherwise they might... foster their own beliefs.
But they do. Don't believe the whole "Religion is outlawed" bullshit. I am a Catholic and I keep a rosary and holy water in my bag pack along with some religious CD's to listen to (not that crappy Christian rock, just speeches) when I'm bored at lunch. I'm not some gay hating, abortion protesting Republican. I am an Independent who thinks that the government should play a role in ensuring the safety and prosperity of its people and not pander to the elite in exchange for campaign "donations." Praying is neither forced nor prohibited. If you want to say a few Our Fathers or a Hail Mary during recess or lunch, by all means do what you gotta do. Just don't do it in class when other people are trying to learn. [editline]8th December 2011[/editline]
How is that even possible?
YouTube takes longer to update the view count than it does ratings.
Likes are probably in real time. Views I guess update periodically.
Views are never updated in realtime when a video is first uploaded. It always stops at 301 and then freezes for several hours before actually updating it.
Ah, I see. That's why they don't let kids pray there, otherwise they might... foster their own beliefs.
Either everyone should be allowed on their own premises or no-one should. Problem is the Christians in the bible belts aren't exactly the most tolerant and kind people.
Views are never updated in realtime when a video is first uploaded.
When there's too many views at once, Youtube doesn't update it in real time.
Never mind. Thanks guys. :D
Related:
If only Rick Perry whistled like that after his ad.

I love how he approves of his own message at the end. First time I've heard of this guy, but what a douche.

And so, a new meme is born.
A loon who has a chance of becoming the President of the U.S.A.
no he doesn't, he lost that chance a long time ago just because someone runs for the nomination doesn't mean they're going to be chosen to be the nominee
The funny thing is, 90% of tea party members probably said something along the lines of "Amen" after they finished seeing this.
