It's either say "Yes I am a huge idiot." or "Yes I'm an idiot but not THAT much of an idiot, also I only care about your votes."
Don't you Americans have non-government funded catholic or protestant schools where it is perfectly fine to say prayers in school?
Don't you Americans have non-government funded catholic or protestant schools where it is perfectly fine to say prayers in school?
Yeah, those exist.
Yeah, those exist.
Then what the hell is his problem?
I dunno if it's because I live in the southern United States and it only happens here, but in my middle and highschool (maybe elementary? Don't quite remember) we had Christian groups that would come to school early on Wednesday and discuss their faith, I always saw them when I was being dropped off. They even got to skip half of the first period. So I don't quite understand where Perry gets this idea that we aren't allowed to practice religion or pray in schools. Again, may have just been a southern thing (can other US FPers testify to this?) but I can't honestly say there was a war on faith or religion when I went to school, quite the opposite in fact.
Then what the hell is his problem?
Obama's war on religion!
I gotta say, he's good at coming across like a really nice guy, but when you unmute the thing you realize he's a bastard.
Don't you Americans have non-government funded catholic or protestant schools where it is perfectly fine to say prayers in school?
Well, catholic schools exist, but I've never heard of a protestant school.
rick perry is scary
I thought Deism was the religious heritage of the U.S.
rick perry just makes my day he thought the energy company solyndra was a country
But his attempt to turn this tough talk into an attack on the current administration came with a few of the verbal misstatements that have plagued other public appearances by Perry. While criticizing President Barack Obama for picking winners and losers in the energy industry, he bungled the name of the most famous energy company to go under despite government assistance. "No greater example of it than this administration sending millions of dollars into the solar industry, and we lost that money," Perry began. "I want to say it was over $500 million that went to the country Solynda."

rick perry just makes my day he thought the energy company solyndra was a country
Solyndra isn't that in like russia or something? I heard they waste all their money on solar energy LOL [editline]14th December 2011[/editline] Why don't they waste it on military budget? what the fuck man!
Don't you Americans have non-government funded catholic or protestant schools where it is perfectly fine to say prayers in school?
Yes, but "non-government funded" generally equates to "inordinately expensive". They're not even an option for most people.
Yes, but "non-government funded" generally equates to "inordinately expensive". They're not even an option for most people.
Hmm, seems to work out fine here in the netherlands, don't know how they do it then.
Rick commited double suicide
"Obama is on the sinning left blah blah" If only that were true.
Recently Perry held two fundraisers. One, near where I live, involved figures such as Ross Perot and Jerry Jones. The other, in Dallas, had Governor Bobby Jindal from Louisiana. Clearly he doesn't seem very phased by the poor reception of this move and still considers himself a viable candidate despite polling putting him below even Bachmann. I've even begun seeing some bumper stickers for Perry for President. I guess that was released along with the fundraising drives. Who knows. It was earlier this summer that Gingrich's campaign was deemed over when much of his campaign team resigned and news came out over the expensive bills he ran up at jewelry stores and attention being drawn to his marriage history when he was very low in polls. But it's getting too close to the razor as it is. Perry's on a sinking ship and I hope it stays that way. Unfortunately the mentality he represents- the bible-thumping and disregard for secularism, is going to stay strong in political discourse.
