Did they happen to mention that: A. A lot of Washington's discontent with Britain stemmed from the fact that they refused to promote him within the British ranks, writing him off as a stupid American. and B: During the prior war in Canadian territories, in which Colonial forces helped Britain immensely, Washington attempted to explain the concept of guerrilla warfare to his British commander, who promptly had none of it and refused to acknowledge the tactical legitimacy of surprise attacks, ambushes and subterfuge? Seriously. Before the Revolutionary War, George Motherfucking Washington attempted to teach the British forces about the very tactics that would later send their asses packing back across the pond, and they didn't listen. It's not that Washington was a great commander, its that the British army was fucking incompetent. As much as I love me some Americana, Washington was not a tactical genius. He was just the only fucking person who was actually using tactics. Calling him the greatest enemy commander is like saying the kid who whooped your ass on "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" is your all-time nemesis.
If I remember correctly back then they barely even had tactics in "professional" armies. It's was pretty much all about maintaining volley fire.
