If you didn't think the current government was full of fascist corrupt fuckbags before, here's your evidence.
I liked Trump at the beginning. But now this shit is happening - my like for him went down faster than Usain Bolt.
Yeah man I can't believe reality tv businessman Donald Trump would but the needs of big business over the needs of the people what a shocker
It will now cost a measly cost of 4.99$ to post in this thread [t]https://i.imgur.com/Omuo6ev.png[/t] Continue on as you would
Even better
This detail was revealed by senior FCC officials in a phone briefing with reporters today, and it is a victory for broadband providers that asked for widespread preemption of state laws. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's proposed order finds that state and local laws must be preempted if they conflict with the US government's policy of deregulating broadband Internet service, FCC officials said.

Advertisement It isn't clear yet exactly how extensive the preemption will be. Preemption would clearly prevent states from imposing net neutrality laws similar to the ones being repealed by the FCC, but it could also prevent state laws related to the privacy of Internet users or other consumer protections. Pai's staff said that states and other localities do not have jurisdiction over broadband because it is an interstate service and that it would subvert federal policy for states and localities to impose their own rules.
Source
As much as I love loss memes, I'm not about to pay $3.99 a pop to see them. https://www.battleforthenet.com/
Even better Source
Jesus fucking Christ, of course. Because why not.
That picture is actually for mobile phone internet in Portugal, it's a list of packages of things that won't count towards the data limit. It's got absolutely nothing to do with paying for actually getting access to those sites and services.
That's exactly what it has to do with. The tenet of net neutrality is that all traffic should be treated equally. In this case traffic to some sites is effectively priorized. If they wanted to, using this system they could in all but name forbid access to other sites by shrinking the default data cap next to nothing.
Even better Source
Yeah, we're gonna get the federal government out of our internet, and give it back to the states! But we're gonna also have the federal government heavily regulate the deregulation of the internet???
Calling your congressmen to fight this is on the front page of pornhub lol
l o l
Trump is either Poe's Law incarnate or he really is just that fucking ignorant of what's really going on. I'm personally betting on the latter.
I went ahead and filed a complaint on the FCC's site for it, since that's also a viable option to voice your disdain instead of calling. If you haven't already, be sure to give them hell for what they're thinking.
this won't stand in court, they haven't proven why the internet suddenly needs deregulated, nor have they proven their new standards would even be adequate or hold up in court. either the fcc has to decide they are not going to protect an equal internet anymore or they leave it as it is because what they are doing now is saying they're for net neutrality but are not for actually regulating it as such and the courts will hopefully block this for years to come
I can't even bring myself to be upset. The American people did this to themselves.
Not really, a majority of us are against this. And pretty much everything about the current administration.
If this passes, the people will hopefully take to the streets. You don't mess with the internet age's internet.
It's important that those of you feeling hopeless about the current situation not just sit idly by and do nothing. Even if this comes to pass, kicking up a fuss about this now, will make it more likely to become a talking point in future elections.
Can’t believe this shit. I remember emailing my Representative 10 years ago about this and I can’t believe it’s still under attack. The FCC director is corporate scum. [editline]22nd November 2017[/editline] Text “504-09” which is “ResistBot.” It will ask your name and address and pull your elected officials, you then type whatever message you want and it will auto generate it into a nice letter and will send to whoever you want. The process takes like 3 minutes.

Only four hundred thousand calls so far. Not nearly enough. Not enough people yet know what's going to happen.
I suppose big corporations like Google will favor in this change, since this hinders competition coming from startups. Services like YouTube, Netflix and whatever can make pretty good deals with ISPs, while the rest will suck their fingertoes.
I thought google rallied for net neutrality?
They've fallen pretty silent the past few years. Dunno what they're thinking now, especially after Franken calling for Google and other big tech to have their power reduced.
We need Porn Hub to be heroic yet again and blackout their main and associated sites.
I liked Trump at the beginning. But now this shit is happening - my like for him went down faster than Usain Bolt.
What the fuck did you think was going to happen
It will now cost a measly cost of 4.99$ to post in this thread [t]https://i.imgur.com/Omuo6ev.png[/t] Continue on as you would
This guy has the most punchable face i've ever seen.
This guy has the most punchable face i've ever seen.
If Net Neutrality is revoked, we should make Ajit Pai's face getting punched the new Facepunch logo. :v:
I think Farage still beats him by a mile, but he's certainly trying.
What's the guy that looks like a turtle? I think he wins.
What's the guy that looks like a turtle? I think he wins.
Are you thinking of Mitch McConnell?
I installed a plugin that changes text of "Ajit Pai" to A Shit Pie. Also, I contacted my congressional reps and voiced my opinion to them through the resist bot. I urge you to do the same!! Government regulation is needed when it comes to the internet because the internet is now the forefront platform of open discussion and individual opportunities. Net Neutrality = uncensored information and equal opportunity. If allowing the regulations to be removed means sacrificing those things, then Net Neutrality must stay in place.
