Opera master race. PS I've never liked Google
microsoft has abso-fucking-lutely no place to talk, seeing how they're trying to force everyone onto that horse fucking shit cloud shit no one wants
Outside of the YouTube changes, I haven't seen that much reason to be upset at Google.
I think YT's cancerous as fuck so i just don't see the Google hate.
That means nothing if you're installing on a 5 year old 5400RPM platter HDD If file access times are shit then only programs that you use often and are therefore cached in RAM and superfetch and such are ever going to appear responsive
Luckily I'm not. This HDD is also less than six months old.
Might be some buggered up registry in Windows or something. Reinstall. [editline]21st November 2013[/editline] I mean your Windows. [editline]21st November 2013[/editline] Ideally to either modern Windows or something that isn't Windows.
I reformatted less than six months ago and I'm on Windows 7.
Fixed
i'll take 5
What are Google going to do with your data except show you adverts that are actually useful to you? What is the fear people have with it? Do most people assume a human is sifting through your data laughing about your search terms? I don't know about you but I prefer seeing adverts related to things I care about more than seeing some viagra advert
What is the NSA going to do with your data except find terrorists? What is the fear people have with it? Do most people assume a human is sifting through your data laughing about your email history? I don't know about you but I prefer not having to worry about terrorism (figure out why the above is completely bogus and you'll have your answer as to why people don't trust Google, a company storing your GPS coordinates, reading your emails, tracking your business use patterns, and with a direct financial incentive to exploit you, either)
Luckily I'm not. This HDD is also less than six months old. I reformatted less than six months ago and I'm on Windows 7.
This just cannot be possible. My FF is installed on a year old HDD, with 9 addons enabled and it doesn't take 5 seconds. I'm talking 40+ tabs within different groups as well. I haven't even tried it on my SSD yet.
They're massively jealous of Google and always have been - Bing has never been able to compete because it brings nothing new to searching much like Windows phones bring nothing new to phones.
Fucking hell microsoft, I liked you better when you didn't do shit like this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_wars#The_first_browser_war Microsoft always did shit like this
So instead of competing with Google and come up with a better service, they just sell stuff like this? I always find it really low of companies who mock their competitors. One thing to say "We are better than our competitors" and another to say "Hey guys, X SUCKS, use our service instead". Instead of wasting your time doing that, get some fucking work done and you won't need to do shit like this since you have a better service. This just proves that Microsoft is falling behind, if anything. (When it comes to competing with Google) And before anyone cries fanboy or whatever. I would say the same thing if Google did it to Microsoft.
I fucking hate when big companies try to be hip and create shit like this. "STAY CALM AN-" shut the fuck up. reminds me of when I saw that stupid vitamin water ad with all those memes in it while waiting for a movie to start in the theater cringed so hard my balls nearly popped (idk how the body works) I don't hate memes necessarily, but having to resort to them for marketing is pretty damn unoriginal
Exactly why I downgraded to F.F. Chromes Incognito mode actually doubles the monitoring instead of cutting it. Yeah, they are wanting to temporarly shut down Youtube to "stop the spam." It would last two weeks so they could delete all comments and launch the site as a "clean slate." As of right now it's a rumor but I wouldn't be surprised if they do something.
why on earth would anyone trust the youtube comment rumormill, especially given "it's a rumor" yet you've got rather specific details on the time and actions being taken
because microsoft is much more trustworthy than those google bastards pot kettle black
bing is really shitty too
Don't be evil, unless you really have to
Tough Love?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_wars#The_first_browser_war Microsoft always did shit like this

Netscape employees showing up to work the following morning found the giant logo on their front lawn, with a sign attached that read "From the IE team ... We Love You". The Netscape employees promptly knocked it over and set a giant figure of their Mozilla dinosaur mascot atop it, holding a sign reading "Netscape 72, Microsoft 18" representing the market distribution.
well uh
It shouldn't take more than five seconds for Firefox to open but it does, and always has.
Your storage would have a much greater impact on the speed of opening an application than your processor or memory. Whoops that's been said already.

They have to resort to their usual smear tactics and underhanded deals because they can't actually compete.
Microsoft is just butthurt that nobody uses Bing.
I use bing... 1. I get free shit 2. I enjoy photography so I'm partial to Bing's home page
bing is really shitty too
What are you talking about? They index porn websites as well. That alone makes them number 1.
You're either using an older version of firefox or it's your computer. Go read a bunch of new benchmarks. Right now Firefox is the best browser out there in terms of overall performance, memory management, security and reliability. Next on the list is the new version of opera that uses chromium and THEN it's chrome itself.
benchmarks aren't comprehensive lists that explain exactly how fast their browser will run on consumer devices. it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize that the computer the benchmarks were run on are probably significantly different than that computer Banned? posted the speccy of.

Why did Microsoft suddenly get so pissed off at Google? I don't care if Google is reading my Gmail, I have nothing to hide. In fact it's actually quite useful since Google Now can set up reminders and shit based off my email. The website is quite entertaining:
Google is doing just the opposite; they’re reading your private email conversations and using what they find to push junk mail directly to your Gmail inbox.
Gmail has incredible spam protection. Switching from Hotmail to gmail was probably one of the best things I've ever done, and haven't received any junk mail for years.

Nobody is reading your email conversations. Their servers might index your email and they might even pull a keyword out if it's relevant enough, but the words they gather won't have any more context than a keyword they pulled from a search result you clicked on. I would see Google Now as part of the Gmail service. I've never used an Android device, but I imagine it's integrated with the GMail app. [editline]21st November 2013[/editline] Google is actually very transparent about where your collected data goes. It's actually kind of interesting how accurately they can describe you based on your browsing habits and searches. Even if you don't want them doing that, you can see what they've figured out and opt out here.

The only way it could have gotten that information is from my email (flight confirmation email). I'm not sure if it was the actual Gmail app itself that read the information or Google (off their servers), I assume it was the latter. I actually find it awesome that it was able to keep track of that stuff without me ever doing anything :v:
That's pretty fucking childish of them.
It's a web browser, not battlefield.
oh wow, what a revelation. this changes everything. congratulations you are very wrong in what you think benchmarks are
bing has a nice image search function
bing has a nice image search function
what do you mean
This again? Microsoft marketing, they just come up with examples that actually apply to them rather than the company they're targeting.
