DARPA, hack my nerd 50's style black rim glasses to read out all this info automatically.
If I was going to work the US Government, I'd want to end up in DARPA.

Yes, please DARPA, make the Nanosuit already, waiting for it is taking too long.

But wouldn't having 360 degree vision make everything smaller?
Yeah it's dedicated to shoot any people.
Shooting other people while protecting our own :eng101:
But wouldn't having 360 degree vision make everything smaller?
No, it just means that you have to wear a helmet with cameras all around it.

Darpa: darts at a wall research and development.

sounds pretty cool but you'd probably look like a complete tard when wearing one, but if it's for soldiers, then the design wouldn't be important as much as functionality.
sounds pretty cool but you'd probably look like a complete tard when wearing one, but if it's for soldiers, then the design wouldn't be important as much as functionality.
You're not thinking about the future applications & Products that could branch off of this tech. Glasses that you can wear with augmented reality that will show you where everything is or where the bus stops are and etc.
stop this 360 nonsense! now! i couldnt kill people in 360. id be too excited of the 360 ness
I dunno (mediatagged for possible image macro) [editline]27th December 2010[/editline] but it reminds me of this from the Phantom Menace
That would be pretty disoriantating if you could see all around you no?
Give fisheye quake a try, it's pretty awesome, and nauseating
No, it just means that you have to wear a helmet with cameras all around it.
Yes, but you would still have to view it through your eyes. So to make more stuff fit into the same space, it would be smaller.
Wait so, they are making war the most realistic video game ever...
Wait so, they are making war the most realistic video game ever...
uHH was that an attempt at humor
Bout time
Apache pilots have to be trained for months to be able to use the one eyed helmet mounted display and see what they're doing at the same time, this is never going to make it to infantry because infantry doesn't have the resources or time to train people to use it It's another case of this:
I'm sure it be nothing like this: But I know that's what everyone hopes DARPA could create.
It looks retarded but seems pretty cool. [editline]27th December 2010[/editline]
Soldiers will have real time 10x zoom capabilities and can operate everything via voice commands.
Couldn't that really confuse the voice recognition if soldiers were in battle and kept yelling "Rear camera!" or something?
It looks retarded but seems pretty cool.
Does that make it DERPA?
Does that make it DERPA?
hohohooo
Wars are going to happen eventually. It's good to have an edge. This will probably benefit civilians later on, in one shape or another.
They need to mount the cameras inside a bulletproof-glass dome on the top of the helmet, so you get 360-vision and can look from a cover without getting your head blown off. And if the cameras break, just take the dome-part and glasses/such off and continue with normal vision.
The future is starting to look like the future! This: [img_thumb]http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/4195/oicwcasing.jpg[/img_thumb] and vititual huds will make up a reality not too far away from what we seen in semi sci-fi games.
Fuck YEAH DARPA!
