How long until thought crime is a real thing :v:
3 months. the nsa are probably planning out the thought crime system right now.
what if you have illegal thoughts
what if you have illegal thoughts
What do you think the thought police are for?
One step closer to an entertainment system that projects your imagination in a virtual reality environment. One step closer to vegetating all day in my imagination.
Great for the disabled, average joe, visual thinkers, etc. Terrible for artists. "I can draw with my mind! Why would I need to learn how to use a pencil!?"
It's no different than a pencil, it's a tool used by artists to project their imagination into the real world, only difference is that it's easier to use. I don't see why that matters anyway when you can already just swipe a pencil at random on a paper and it'll sell for millions on a museum. Simplifying a little bit but you get the point, in an age where everything can be considered art I don't see the point in worrying about art being easier to make.
The thing with this is, is that you have to do a joint training with the computer. You practice drawing this shape with your mind until it looks like the pattern of the letter you are trying to get. It isn't dynamically pulling up the word brains from a rectangular strip in your head, only 6 different clips of the same spot trying to change into different letters - which is why each letter looks slightly like different letters.
Imagine perfecting the process... You could literally make a movie in your head and have it appear on screen.
It's weird how all the faces look the same in the reconstruction
What's up with that one guy in the T-Shirt in the reconstruction? That's strange. No hat either. I call bullshit
3 months. the nsa are probably planning out the thought crime system right now.
Remember that wearing a tinfoil hat makes you immune to mindreading.
Memory recordings could be a thing.
Personally, I can't wait to download some hilarious dreams.

This isn't the same thing as actually grabbing images from the brain, read the document that was published along with this video.
The problem with the porn fantasy thing is what happens you visualize an actual person that you know then stick it on the internet. Then we get the whole debate on whether it's right or wrong to use someone's image blah blah blah.
They will use this to impress their political views upon us. So basically, we're all gonna be republican. Fuck.

Imagine how fucked up it would be if you recorded a nightmare.
Imagine how fucked up it would be if you recorded a nightmare.
"Inspired by true events"
Brings a whole new meaning to "circlejerk"
No it doesn't I mean you can already get off to stuff in your imagination, this just makes it easier to visualize/store
Anyone else notice the image captured from the brain is horizontally flipped? I suppose it makes sense, given how our eyes work. Also, tinfoil hat wouldn't work. You need a Faraday Cage, and tinfoil doesn't behave like one.

Well, nice to see progress in understanding how human brain works. But... I am actually scared by this. I wouldn't want anyone to see the nightmares I have. I wouldn't want to watch them in a conscious and sober state of mind.
