the assault weapons ban isn't going to do anything to curb violent crime but the one thing that it will do is at least piss off the hordes of pro-gun fanatics that I've grown to hate over time

I think that most of the Xbox live community is annoying as hell so we should ban all video games because some of the people that play them bother me.

Fixed that for you
No, it's just a $200 fee and registration; the main bullshit is the time it takes the ATF to process it which in the past 10 years has never been less than 3 weeks, and usually take 2 to 3 months.
2-3 months is the low end, they're closer to 7 or 8 months right now
Fixed that for you
HAHAHAHA NICE ORIGINAL MAY-MAY XDDDD
Honestly the whole "Murica" thing is stupid, and adds nothing to conversation.
On Topic:
The speech thing that they did earlier today mentioned nothing about statistics
Victims of the Virginia Tech shooting went up and spoke in front of the microphone, one of them saying that the shooter had "High capacity magazines", when Cho had 10 round magazines for his two PISTOLS, and he said that 50 people died at his hand, when 33 died from the shooter.
The fact that people bring up Columbine as a gun control reason, you need to remember that Columbine happened during the 1st AWB. Another example is the Pearl High school Shooting, in 1997, where a student shot up a school with a lever-action and a knife. He was stopped by the assistant principal, who had a gun in his car.
They're basing this ENTIRE thing on emotion.

you're adorable.
UncleJimmema the site you were looking for is thomas at the library of congress or http://beta.congress.gov/ those sites result in errors for me but they worked before, and provide the functionality you described earlier. Giving you this now incase someone didn't tell you about it in the previous pages of this thread.

You can't register a new automatic. You can register suppressors, short barreled rifles and shotguns, but the NFA registry is closed to any new guns that fire more than one bullet per trigger pull. Except for shotguns which fire two or more barrels on a single trigger pull and hand cranked Gatling guns, they need no registry what so ever, go figure. If you want to convert your AR-15 to full auto you need to get a registered lower that was made from before 1986 which run more than $10,000 on a good day, ditto on if you wanted to buy a Thompson expect $10,000, if you wanted a BAR 1918 expect $100,000 minimum so only the top 1% can actually afford these guns. If you're working minimum wage you might be able to afford a low end AR-15 but a full auto lower is just a dream that will never happen unless the NFA registry is opened again.
Course if you're a powerful politician in need of campaign funds the ATF will gladly turn a blind eye to you so long as you think favorably toward them in the future and allow you to register a brand new M16 you bought at factory price so you can sell it at market price (5,000% markup hell yeah!).
LMT sights are specialty sights that are designed to keep you from having to use flip up sights. The entire point of them is that normal mounted sights suck for that purpose.
I own an LMT sight, it is not a specialty sight at all, it is the exact same A2 sight that comes on a carry handle, it just lacks the handle. There is nothing different about it from any other fixed or flip-up sight. Any fixed sight would work in that application that I showed as an example. It all goes back to the entire point of co-witnessed sights. A seamless transition from fast close range target acqusition to long range precision.
