wtf are you talking about acds you don't need to be a psychiatrist to diagnose depression
This is nice and all, but at some point, you need to ask "how far is to far" when it comes to learning about an individual, or even going so far as to intervene in their life without permission. I'm glad someone is taking the time to create this kind of technology, but at the same time, I worry for where it may take us.
1984
What if when you get the phone you're a really miserable person, and you happen to come out of your misery shortly after obtaining the phone?
Why,i hate smartphones, hell i even built a scrambling tower that fucks them up in a 300km radius.
so you're either lying or you committed a federal offense [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
What if when you get the phone you're a really miserable person, and you happen to come out of your misery shortly after obtaining the phone?
well if you live here your long contract and terrible data plan will ensure you never come out of your misery
That only means the people ignoring the depression symptoms have depression, not that they have been diagnosed with it by a professional.
You think the patients in a depression treatment trial at a known medical university would not be people diagnosed with depression? What?
Isn't that what the price tag is for?
"I found 38 high-rise buildings and three train stations near you"
There actually is a suicide app, I forget what it's called but it tells you where the nearest bridge is :v:
This seems like it might decide that introverts are depressed because they are not very social.

I could actually use this since I have had chronic depression for quite a while and I'm trying to deal with it. A little bit of assistance would be nice. I would have never guessed that I had depression, normal doctors didn't, but it was really obvious to anyone in mental health. I guess I have a less obvious kind.
Why,i hate smartphones, hell i even built a scrambling tower that fucks them up in a 300km radius.
Judging by the fact you can't even read past the first line of the article, I'd say you're incapable of that
The algorithm-based Mobilyze would rely on a bevy of data--location, social activity, physical activity, what a user is doing, etc.--to determine behavior patterns and recognize if they are behaving normally or seem to be deviating from their normal behavior, particularly in ways that suggest depression.
And then it classifies every forum user as critically depressed.
depression, it's just a bad day.
Haha oh man Clearly this guy has no fucking idea what major clinical depression is and how it affects you
I think that phone would break if I had it. :( [editline]oh...[/editline]
I could actually use this since I have had chronic depression for quite a while and I'm trying to deal with it.
