Why?
Um no, in fact smoking two blunts is a whole lot more smoke than several tobacco cigarettes, so it's not negligible at all.
Yes, and I'm sure this guy is blowing his damn smoke in the kid's face. He probably did it in his room etc. If you've ever smoked you know it'd smell up basically the entire floor of the house anyway.
Most wood burning stoves have to meet regulations that make them as efficient as possible to reduce pollutants.

Doesn't matter where hes blowing it, it's in an enclosed space and the child is probably breathing it in.

He could have smoked out a window.... you're jumping down this guy's neck for nothing.

uhhhh got a source for this buddy?
He could have smoked out a window.... you're jumping down this guy's neck for nothing.
I really doubt that he's smoking it out the window.

If it's in an enclosed space the smoke doesn't have room to dissipate. The smoke lingers in the air and the child will be breathing it in.
For fucks sake if you are going to smoke a cigarette or blunt or w/e, and you have a kid, just fucking walk outside.
I really doubt that he's smoking it out the window.
Why? Me and my friends do all the time, it's to prevent the house from smoking up and smelling for like an entire day.
I really doubt that he's smoking it out the window.
oh for fucks sake having a window or two open would be enough

He may fucking have, just smelling it doesn't mean he lit up next to his kid. The smell sticks to you even if you're outside.
uhhhh got a source for this buddy?
Uh from smoking blunts.
Anyways:
"Cigarettes: Cigarettes are uniform in size and contain less than 1 gram of tobacco each. U.S. cigarettes are made from different blends of tobaccos, which are never fermented, and they are wrapped with paper. Most U.S. cigarettes take less than 10 minutes to smoke."
"Cigarillos are a type of smaller cigar. They are a little bigger than little cigars and cigarettes and contain about 3 grams of tobacco."
Cigarillos are what blunts are usually rolled with. So it contains over 3 times as much smokeable material than a cigarette. It is also wider, and so it can pull more smoke per "drag". So yea, 2 blunts is worth over 6 cigarettes.

I'm talking about hypothetical. If he's going outside to smoke then great! I'm saying that smoking inside a house with children is bad.

Except that the resulting blunt is usually 1/4th the size of a cigarillo after you gut it and fill it.

source from my cigar vs cigarette facts btw.
There is a debate forum you know.
Oh the horror.
Better jail everyone that smokes tobacco around kids as well.
Please, let's.
Oh the horror.

If people can be charged with child abuse for lightly smacking their kid on the leg when he misbehaves then why the hell shouldn't they be charged with child abuse for doing something that could cause the child health problems.
what a fucking piece of shit.
To be honest if the guy stepped outside his front door to smoke I'm 90% sure the pizza guy would've noticed that.
Except that the resulting blunt is usually 1/4th the size of a cigarillo after you gut it and fill it.
I've loaded at least 2 grams into a cigarillo blunt before.
It depends on the skill of the roller and the amount of marijuana on hand, sure. However, a blunt always contains more marijuana than a joint, or a cigarette.
I used to deliver pizzas for a living, and let me tell you, when people were smoking weed at a house I delivered to, I often accepted bowls in place of tips.
This guy is an uptight fuckwad.
That delivery driver sure was doing the honourable thing right there reporting that degenerate pot smoking cunt from infecting his community with aids. derp
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
Exactly, where is the fucking consistency?
People often drink around their kids too, better get them irresponsible cunts too for pursuing such abhorrent behaviour. "Just one?" fucking substance abusers
You can't get a kid drunk by drinking alcohol close to him, you can however intoxicate him by smoking.
You don't have to arrest the guy for smoking a legal drug (tobacco, medical marijuana, whatever), just warn him or something. Smoking right in front of a kid is retarded, it's giving him a bad example and is poisoning him.
Makes me wonder how did the delivery boy know what marijuana smells like.
This argument makes no sense, everyone smokes pot and everyone knows what it smells like. This argument would make more sense if it was like
meth

Dude you would literally have to HOTBOX for HOURS with your kid in the room to get them even a little high.
I'm of the mind that it is borderline abuse to smoke around a child in a confined space no matter what. It's impossible to enforce, but it still is bad.
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
No, not really. If it's a small child then it is potentially dangerous. His reflexes will be slowed, his coordination will be worse, and his judgement will be worse. This is not good around a small child at all.
the man explicitly said he would never smoke infront of his daughter and that his daughter was in the bathroom at the time of smoking
it's like you don't know how to read a fucking article before you start complaining on a high horse
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
also it's near impossible to get high off second-hand marijuana smoke unless you're being shotgunned and breathing in, or if you're hotboxed.
Dude you would literally have to HOTBOX for HOURS with your kid in the room to get them even a little high.
You'd also need to smoke for hours in front of a kid to give him the effects of cigarette and an addiction, still doesn't change the fact the poor kid IS BREATHING SMOKE.
You should just not do it in front of a kid, period.

So the guy cleaned out all the lingering smoke before the child came in?
Alright then.
I think the man should sue the delivery boy/company
This is more aimed at people who are saying it's not harmful to smoke around a child. If this guy was responsible then good for him.
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
Smoking anything around a child is irresponsible.
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
Whether it's legal or not.
bah how the times have changes, 15 years ago cigarette smokers would smoke in cars with children and in public places, now it's a terrible thing because we've done research on secondhand smoke
sometimes i still catch a whiff of the cigarettes my dad used to smoke and it's a kind of nostalgic feeling, it's so strange
Well in January it will no longer be an issue, that bill better pass.
(I'm voting on it and informing all of my friends about it, this shit will not be shot down.)
Colorado on the forefront of change.
More on topic of the article, did the cops get a warrant for that search? The word of a delivery man is not enough to bust in.
I see no problem with this, he observed that someone was (in his opinion) breaking the law, and he tipped off the police.
