The only realistic solution seems to be to go to school in another country. Not like you can freely go to another country for 10 years, but... there just isn't any other option.
Your parents can be a lawyer. That way you can rule the school with fear of getting caught breaking the law in the same way that their child is ruled by fear.
This reminds me of a case very similar in London, England a few years back, the bullies got rewarded and the kid was told he was lying so he recorded it, instead of action being taken he got into trouble, then into trouble again when he 'pushed' one of the bullies in self defense. It ended when the poor kid had enough of it all and stabbed and killed all the bullies and them himself. Do these people have absolutely no common sense whatsoever?
Land of the Free, huh.
When I was in high school I managed to annoy this one kid for whatever reason who decided that he was going to spend every moment outside of class threatening me, went to the principal about it and they said they would handle it. They did so by calling him in and telling him that I had made a complaint about him, and to leave me alone. That worked super well of course, few days afterwards he walked up and showed me how he had a broken pair of scissors that he'd use to cut my throat with. So we went back to the principal, this time with half my family talking about how we'd sue the school and his family if he ever laid a finger on me, suddenly the school wanted to do something about it :v:
Of course....the solution has been with you all along. Why'd you wait so long to point it out to us!? Lawsuits! Bury the schools in lawsuits and you bet your ass they'll do something about it! :v:

Fucking disgusting. The only real way to deal with bullies without getting your ass handed by teachers, the school district, or the government is to either victimize yourself, get into a position of power where you can abuse the bully, or be a clever cunt so that no one has any basis to punish you.
dumpster trash America: Where bullies are actually rewarded and practically encouraged we need to fire some judges from ever getting a stable job again.
Their parents must be so fucking proud.
dumpster trash America: Where bullies are actually rewarded and practically encouraged we need to fire some judges from ever getting a stable job again.
That's how it has been for as long as I can remember.
So wait, all forms of audio recording in public are "wire tapping"?
Apparently so. In most states, at least one party in the conversation (oral or electronic) must consent to the recording. However, PA is one of a few states that require both parties to consent to the recording. So by all means, he is technically "guilty". Doesn't make it any less fucked though.

Makes me thankful that my personal public school experience dealt with level-headed staff and a generally bully-less environment.
My school had episodes of complete retardation when it came to zero tolerance and punishments. For example once some idiot vandalized the boys bathroom on the second floor. After no one came up and gave themselves in the school obviously toke the intelligent and fair route, closing off ALL the guys restrooms for the entire week. You had to go? Too bad, you had to hold it the whole day. One of the teachers mentioned that it was just a threat it order for the person to give up and that they werent actually going to go through with it. But what do you know? The kid gave himself in the first day but they continued with the punishment regardless. Mind, We still had a place to go the restroom, but that was an old/small restroom on the far side of the school. If anyone caught you going in there you were given immediate ISS, which you got otherwise because you always arrived late to class after using it because it was "Suspicious" Tl;dr The school denied us the ability to piss during the whole day as a punishment.
i'm 150% that's hyper-illegal
Welcome to the US where our policies encourage bullying and physical violence and discourage anyone from standing up to any form of oppression. Cool
Zero Tolerance? More like Zero Intelligence! Or Zero Empathy!
Welcome to the US where our policies encourage bullying and physical violence and discourage anyone from standing up to any form of oppression. Cool
Of course. If they stand up to bullies now, imagine what happens if they decide to stand up against government later in life. Can't allow that.
God forbid we ruin the lives of a few assholes instead of helping someone in need! Remember that quote from Red Dead Redemption? "This is America, where a lying, cheating degenerate like myself can prosper."
Ruin lives? We're talking about educating school bullies, not murdering criminals.
............ It's hyperbole.

This reminds me of a situation I was in once, I want to know what you guys think. My mom's ex-boyfriend was verbally harassing us, me and my mom were living in fear and we were in the process of getting a restraining order on him (he was living in our house at the time and he was there long enough that he was legally bound to stay if he so desired, by California state law, we were in the process of evicting him from our home). One night he goes off on his yelling/verbally threats rampage (in my mothers bedroom, I was with her to provide comfort/support) and I decide to get an audio recording of it (without his consent) on my phone. Once we finally got into the restraining order office, I had to beg to be allowed to attend the meeting with my mom. Long story short, I eventually mentioned that I had an audio recording of this guy making threats against us on my phone and the lady in the office looked at me like I had a bomb. "I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear you say that, please do not mention it again, that is VERY illegal." I couldn't believe my ears. I was the one who had done wrong in the eyes of the law. Maybe my situation isn't relatable to the one in the public school since a home is considered a private residence.
The bullies and their familes will usually both play dirty, and threats from that side of physical and/or legal damage towards reasonable families (and the school) makes them extremely difficult to fight. Due to the way the law and the school system now works, the only choice you have left is to be equally irrational and ridiculous. The minute they fail to act (or worse, attempt to punish a victim), immediately have a lawyer draft up a legal letter and present it to the principal, the super, and the school board. Watch how fast things turn around when you play just as dirty as those fuckers. My family tried for years to reason with the principal/school board about the bullying at my school, and nothing we ever said made a difference. One serious legal threat later and they kicked two out of school and put the third on the shortest leash ever. Had I even been the least bit subtle and antagonized him he would have been kicked right the fuck out. Think of the lessons a kid learns from this. He learns that the authorities are not there to protect good people, they're there to protect their own power. He learns that "fighting by the rules" or "being honorable" are useless, as is the emotion of pride: you must be willing to go as low as, and indeed, even lower than your opponent. There really are no rules because if there were, the authorities would be enforcing them. Basically, sometimes, good people must do bad things, and when it comes to your ability to get an education and at least have the opportunity for success, it's ok to be selfish once in a while.
And here I was thinking that school districts were trying to discourage school shootings. Silly me :v: But seriously, I hope they appeal and counters-sue for this. How could something this stupid even happen in the first place? Just wow... I'm glad to be done with school. At this rate, the students mind as well be wearing orange jumpsuits.

Schools don't give a fuck, but scaring them shitless because they can't do their fucking jobs right by threatening to shit on them from such a height that they would think that god himself dropped a load on their heads? It's both satisfying and deserved. It's not fighting against the rules; it's playing by their rules, taking their rules to the next level, and beating them senseless at their own game. [editline]14th April 2014[/editline] It teaches kids that if they want justice, they need to fight smarter, not harder. "The struggle of humanity against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting." You need to remind those fuckers as best you can.

Its fucked up, but she's right. The evidence would have to be not only thrown out in court, but could potentially flip around and get you in trouble if the ex-boyfriend got word of it.
