The mom did the right thing, the kid was about to be molested (even though he probably wanted to do it).
But still,since I'm a guy.....nice.
Uh yea they are.
If you can get a boner you can have sex.
Did you grow up asexual or something?
Why is this dumb. If you have gone through puberty you are physically able to have sex. You are talking about a relationship in the differences. Of course a relationship is out of the question but a hookup is physically possible.
I see a hole in your logic. . .I was getting boners at age four.
15 is the age of consent in civilised countries.
I'm 17, and even if i do not talk with many 15 year olds in real life, I know some in facepunch and they are pretty smart. In my opinion , some 15 year old's are as smart and mentally developed as people who are 17-18 year old.
There's a difference between "smart" and "mentally developed", and it's pretty unlikely that a kid's going to be fully mentally developed at 15.
precisely. we're not talking about IQ here, but more about EQ. i think.
If that happened to me when I was 15, I would have got high fives from everyone I knew, separated parents included
Do you think a 24-year-old thinks a 15-year-old is fully mentally developed
You'd pretty much either have to be a 15-year-old or never have met one in order to believe that
Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and punch my 15-year-old self in the face.
fuck, that boy could have been so fucking lucky
At 15, I would have done anything for that but uninterrupted. Omnomnom eating gym pussy
If that happened to me when I was 15, I would have got high fives from everyone I knew, separated parents included
you have shit parents
The kid was giving consent. And seeing as the age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 (the kid being 15), I see no problem. Do you honestly think one year will make a difference in his judgement?
Dude this is like every teenage boy's fantasy.
Except for the cockblocking mother part. I wouldn't talk to her after that.
Can anyone say double standards :v:
You guys would be flipping out if the genders were switched.
Honestly, you're all acting like greasy nerds who will never get some. Do you expect the mom to let her 15 year old be molested by a lady in her 20s? How is stopping this "over-protective"? I hope none of you ever have kids.
Okay Mr.Downer. I'm certain greasy nerds aren't the only ones that'd be brofisting the lad. (greasy nerds wouldn't dare step foot in a gym fucking betas)

You sure you don't see the problem?
You sure you don't see the problem?
What's the part you have a problem with, the difference between the kid's age and the age of consent being a year (at most. for all we know the kid's birthday could have been coming up), or the fact that the age of consent there is 16?

Oh it's only one year. Oh it's only two years. Oh it's only three years.
Oh it's only one year. Oh it's only two years. Oh it's only three years.
It's a pretty average age for highschoolers to start having sex.

Well, I suppose you have to draw the line somewhere, law-wise.
It's a pretty average age for highschoolers to start having sex.
Yeah.
With high schoolers.
Yeah.

So shagging a 16 year old is so much more morally just than shagging a 20 year old? I can understand why something like this is frowned upon but if it were to happen I don't think criminal charges should ensue
So shagging a 16 year old is so much more morally just than shagging a 20 year old?
A 15 year old doing another 15 year old or a 16 year old is safer because they both have the same level of mental development and sexual knowledge, generally. 17 year olds, too, provided we're not talking about someone who just turned 15 with someone about to turn 18.
A 20 year old doing another 20 year old is more morally just than doing it with a 15 year old, because the 20 year old is more mentally developed than the 15 year old. An 18 year old is fine too. 17 year olds, too, provided we're talking about someone who's just about to turn 18.
It's not automatically going to be harmful, but it's safer to keep the age differences smaller when we're talking about people who are still developing.
This is a crappy analogy on all but the most basic levels, but think of it like drunk driving: a drunk driver isn't automatically going to crash, but it's likely they will. If they don't, that's great, but they still wrongfully took that chance and could have hurt someone. It's much more likely you're taking advantage of someone under the age of consent (and over 2 or so years below you in age) than if they're over the age of consent. People have different opinions on where that point should be, but I'm pretty sure that 15 is underage in most cases.
Well, I suppose you have to draw the line somewhere, law-wise.
Once a person gets within a year of the actual age of consent it really becomes a massive gray area as to whether it's really right for them to have sex. Yeah, according to the law it's still illegal but since they're so close to actually reaching the age of consent is it really worth the hassle to press charges? Chances are by the time a verdict is reached the "victim" (in quotes because the kid was consenting in this case) will have reached the age of consent, so is it really worth it? The answer is massively subjective but that's what I think.

I also think that you're an idiot. Don't put words in my mouth, jackass.

It's the same idea.
It's the same idea.
Not really. Read the paragraph I wrote above that. It's more about "is it really worth it to press charges if he's so close to the age of consent anyways" than it is "hurf durf I'm too horny to wait one more year so that makes it okay!"

"so close to the age of consent" is subjective. Two years could be close, as could three years. What I said has nothing to do with ""hurf durf I'm too horny to wait one more year so that makes it okay!"

True enough, but I still think one year is too large of a grey area, which gets more and more gray the closer the kid gets to the actual age of consent (again, for all we know the kid's birthday could have been very soon).

Once you start having a threshold for how close to the age of consent is considered old enough, you start getting a grey area around that age. It would just be "he's almost almost almost old enough." The simple way around this is just to set an age and stick with it. Yeah he's almost old enough, but he's not old enough.
Facepunchers are weird and too horny.
Actually I wouldn't flip out if the genders were switched because I've seen relationships with 15-16 year old girls going out with older guys. Its weird but not uncommon.
The guys who are in their 20's and go out with 15 - 16 year olds are not short from pedophiles.
Seriously, why would you chain yourself to a child when you might as well go and find someone your own age to bone.
Sick world.
All of you people bitching about this need to shut it.
If I was 15.. damn.
