If you're going to respond to hunting with "kill yourself you animal-murdering waste of life", you're a goddamn hypocrite who needs to shut the fuck up and seriously re-evaluate your ideals. That's all that really needs to be said about this.
An animal that shows a basic inelligence(get food, reproduce, avoid danger, protect young, etc.) is hardly the same as a sentient animal with organized society.
Many animals including magpies, have been proven to be capable of self awareness.
Many animals including magpies, have been proven to be capable of self awareness.
And also are extremely aggressive and are known to mutilate the chicks of other birds, using them as bait so they can kill the mothers. [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] They aren't happy-go-lucky animals, if that's what you're getting at
the anti left bullshit in those comments is really fucking me off for some reason
PeTA, the squeakuel
oh my god i'm sorry that just looks awful
jesus how did she get that many tags
jesus how did she get that many tags
They're birds, tags galore for those flying bastards.
jesus how did she get that many tags
Depends on the state and game populations.
Hunting for sport is stupid. If you're going to eat the animal, fine by me, but just killing it just for sport is retarded
I thought that regulations on hunting only allowed animals that were beginning to have an overpopulation problem to be hunted?
I don't think the human race really has a NEED to hunt anymore, but its sure a lot better then live stock, seeing as how at least those animals get to run around free before they get killed, not shoulder to shoulder in their own shit pumped with anti-biotics. Meat should just be eating rarely, and humanely hunted, its healthier for you that way any ways.
I thought that regulations on hunting only allowed animals that were beginning to have an overpopulation problem to be hunted?
You underestimate natures procreation abilities.
It isn't like 24/7 blow shit up and kill everything, there are seasons. It called population control, in order to keep other species alive which in return keep that areas system balance. They have limits as to the numbers, it just depends on what animal it is. People need to learn what environmental carrying capacity means. I suggest before people start throwing a shit fit about hunting and what it does, i highly suggest you read something like this. http://www.hunter-ed.com/pa/course/1-1_objectives.htm It breaks it down. Also most places have posted charts You shoot it, and it dies. I don't see how it is cruel, it is a quick and painless death (You can actually get fined and in some pretty big trouble, can't just shoot off and wound animals and hope they die). It isn't like these hunters bait and trap animals then pull their legs off and skin them alive. Most people who hunt love the outdoors and respect the animals they do kill. Showing off your catch is a part of the thing, you show friends and family what you got. As for that pile of birds, who is to say she sold it to someone? People who don't hunt buy that stuff, they use the parts of it. Best example I have is a friend who hunts rabbits like crazy, he does not eat the meat (they're nasty rabbits) but he sells the pelts to someone else for a few bucks each. He kills a lot of them and takes them in all at once. Most of it is pest control anyway, some of these animals that are hunted in large numbers are trouble-sum and cause a shit ton of issues.
LOL, sure buddy. There's no 'excess' in nature and there's no need for population control. The numbers specified by the government during hunting seasons represents the loss that those species can recover from. When a population explodes in numbers is because humans have screwed up the food chain and apex predators have been hunted to extinction (again, by the same harmless recreational hunters).
jesus how did she get that many tags
In North Dakota where I hunt you don't tag birds. You have a limit on some birds, but for pheasants it's like 3 a day. I'm really not sure why this is such a big deal. Sure, the animal feels pain temporarily but once it's dead it's dead. It doesn't have real emotions like a human being, birds don't mourn eachother. I highly doubt many birds die a "natural" death. Most of them get killed by other animals or die a slow painful death from disease combined with old age. What is the difference in the end?
I feel dumber having read some of those comments.
oh my god i'm sorry that just looks awful
Looks tasty.
I'm saying life is life, just because it's the life of an animal doesn't mean you can disrespect it.
Comparing a person shooting a bird to people peeing on corpses of other living beings is very bad taste IMO. Yeah, it sucks that she killed all of those birds. However, we don't know if she used them or didn't, and if you''re jumping to a conclusion about her without knowing that's pretty stupid. We have way worse things happening to animals everyday: we breed them to feed them fatty foods and their own shit (for immunoresponse), we breed animals whose sole purpose is so they have some kind of problem that a studying veterinarian can learn off of, we have people who own pets just to neglect them. Most of these do have a benefit to society, and what she did would have too if she donated some of that meat or ate all of it (which once again, we have no idea either way).
Guys the one in OP weren't nearly all of the tweets.. They get a lot worse.
Levy @LuluLevy @CoreyCogdell So you like killing animals? I hope you suffer a long, painful death. I trully do. Whatever that means. Sick fucks.
Long as she eats those animals or something like that I guess Im fine with it. I have mixed opinions about hunting.
I'm okay with trophy hunters who spend days tracking and stalking something like Moose or Elk, because that takes skill and can be quite dangerous.
Hunting is fun, but every hunter Ive ever known takes their kill home to clean it and eat it. Its not a good idea to just kill it and leave it. Hunting isnt the the worst thing ever guys, there is nothing wrong with that girls picture. Id be pretty proud too if i shot all those birds too.
Unless it's confirmed that she or someone else are going to eat what she kills or not, I refuse to take any sides. I only believe in hunting things for food. My dad is a hunter and we eat whatever he kills. (Well, we do have a set of antlers on the wall, but we ate him, and he made goooood sausage.) Hunting just to kill and for trophies is wasteful. Yes, it is also done to control the population which is vital, but throwing away what's useful and only using it for show is wrong in my opinion. All that meat and such could be used to feed many starving/homeless people.
All that meat and such could be used to feed many starving/homeless people.
There was a charity that did this a while back, trophy hunters that didn't want the meat got their venison packed up and sent to homeless shelters. Venison is a good meat anyways, I don't know why you'd give it up.
Ah good old facepunch, it's nice to wake up to a early morning shitstorm. Here we combine the good old issue of guns with the hotly debated issue of animal rights and worth in comparison to human life. Let me get some popcorn.
Pretty dumb, you guys realize how much meat produced for super markets goes to waste? Also, most trophy hunters eat or give away their food to family members, it doesn't just go to waste, and even if it did I wouldn't be concerned. Wild animals prob have a better life and hunters are usually careful to give the quickest/least painful death on the animal possible.. so yeah so while millions of animals are being butchered to eat you guys are worried about a few .. pheasants that will prob be eaten, and won't go extinct.
oh my god i'm sorry that just looks awful
she must have used some sort of assault rifle to bring all those down lol
I'd let her hunt my trophy if you know what I mean
You all really need to watch Ted Nugent, he's a really smart man when it comes to wildlife. He never wasted ANY part of the animal, he makes furs and eats all of them, he never over hunts. Whenever I hunt I try to take his 'moral code' with me.
