Wouldn't this be bad for console gamers? Keyboard and Mouse input is proven to be much more tactile and accurate in tests. If I remember correctly a development team was working on the concept of allowing PC gamers to play with console gamers but it was found that the keyboard and mouse gave a huge advantage to PC gamers.
Valve announces SteamOS support for keyboard & mouse XboxOne *same* Random isn't it?
Nintendo added mouse and keyboard support last week and no one noticed, I'm expecting now that Microsoft has done it Sony will either do the same thing or try to make Microsoft look stupid for doing it. Nothing's using it yet on the Wii U but in both cases it's great there's the option for developers.

It was very useful in the Midnight Club 3 days. Now, i tend to just use the keyboard when i need one thats portable. Its pretty small
Animal Crossing on the Wii supported being played with a keyboard too. Made writing letters and communicating in multiplayer so much easier.
