I find it quite annoying that its OUR generation that's suffering thanks to a greedy generation that will pretty much be dead within the next 10 years or so and we still probably won't be out this shithole of a fuck up.
I'm referring to university, I know regular schooling is free in the UK.
College isn't regular schooling in the UK, it's an optional extra level of education that is provided for free if you are under 19.
Public sector workers tend to get a pretty decent pension from what I saw on the news earlier, one they interviewed is able to put about £300 a month away for a pension and still live. My parents, both in private sector, can't afford to put £50 a week into their pension funds or we would be on the street.
They strike way too fucking much, and disrupt basically everything else in the country. It's getting beyond a joke, innocent bystanders are impacted heavily by train operator strikes, and the ambulance service is going to be fun this time, some of them are joining in the strikes apparently! Because fuck the people that rely on you! You totally need a boost to your already pretty decent pensions!
The only union I sympathise with is Fire Brigade. In most places they have to pay 17% of their wages to keep their pensions going!
The rest can go to hell. 9% isn't that much, and barely catches up with the private sector which is paying 14% on average.
Bob Crow can fuck off as well. Stalinist prick.
Although the private sector is getting wage increases - the majority of public sector workers aren't, and won't be for a few years. You've also got the fact the private sector added 40,000 jobs these three months - the public sector lost 110,000.

Perhaps it's different then, I probably should have looked into it while I was in the UK.

Yeah our education system is a slightly odd one to most people outside the country. Not sure why, but I grew up with it, so I'm used to it :v:
If you are under 19 the government will pay your tuition fees for certain schools, and fund them, you can still pay for private education, but the government run stuff is fine.
Junior/ infant, middle and high school are mandatory, with high school providing GCSE qualifications, which you need to do anything a trained monkey can't.
College is higher education, with qualifications like A level, BTEC Foundation/ National Certificates/ Awards/ Diplomas. And some others, such as vocational qualifications. Which are needed to get into certain areas. Again, you should have just left high school (16), so this will be free.
University is further education, Bachelor degrees, masters and the likes. This is all funded by the government, but you have to pay your tuition, even if you are under 19. Though thankfully most unis have open scholarships, where you can get a decent sum of money for just meeting certain grades.
A lot of people tend to take college courses just to decide what to do with their life. As it's a free education, it's worth taking even if you don't 100% know what you want to do. It helped me realize what part of IT I would prefer to go into.
