Reduced functionality most likely, that's what they did with unlicensed Win8/7/Vista/XP iirc. Don't see how this would be different.
What if you can't pay for a month? Is your computer locked out then? Do I need to get another computer to start paying again? (to access the website, etc)

that certainly won't happen. And this whole subscription thing will also not happen.
Just another reason for me to stay on 7 for another year.

Microsoft is just trying to create a revenue stream, somewhere along the way, its become more profitable to do year by year at a smaller sum than a lump sum.
Linux is the only option now
