Well because now we might see Russian propaganda saying lies about what they want, honestly.
Whereas I'll take this electoral result from Crimea's 2010 parliamentary elections as a conclusion of the Crimean thought of the matter.

It just confuses me that if Crimea wanted to join Russia, why did the Russian Unity party only get 3% of the vote? Party of Regions got damn near 50% of the vote. Even the Communists got 5%.
Because Party of Regions are known for their trustworthy votings, for sure...
Tip - they are not. They are even worse than United Russia.

But the platform of the party is the inclusion of Ukrainian and Russian peoples, the protection of the rights of Ukrainian Russian's and the Russian language inside Ukraine. That's why I mentioned them. Sure, we could talk about corruption and we could go on and on, but my point was they supported a party that supported their rights, but wanted to include them in Ukraine and not rejoin Russia.

That's a good point.
I wonder though why of all media outlets that claim Crimea has been annexed not a single one of them tried to poll Crimeans on what they want. I geniunely want to know results of such a poll, preferably if a Russian newspaper polled people too so we could compare the results.
All I can think of is how much it must suck for the people. It's not like they can do much against Russia's forces.
Why does no one ever ask Crimean people what they think tho?
