it'd be suicide for them to not include it in the xbox, psn or steam (?) store
Why? IF theres a big demand for it, and it can only be acquired by buying their other game, then they are creating demand for their other game albeit a tad artificial.
$20 extra bucks for a remaster that ought to be free? Get real
Define remastered though.
Is it just a few aditions and fixes or full blown overhaul?
Remaster usually only means some graphical improvement and such things, its not gonna be a remake theyll probably just update the engine and make some minor tweaks.
it'd be suicide for them to not include it in the xbox, psn or steam (?) store
Suicide by drowning in money? Maybe. Besides that, nah.
If it's separate why bother ? It's probably going to be very small changes that will be hardly noticeable. It's not like modern warfare is an ugly game by today's standards, so may as well just play the PC version that's already out. Infinity ward would probably do some stupid shit with the remaster such as removing dedi servers or modding because they're cunts.
maps are probably gonna be all those fan favorite sniper maps from mw, like bloc and that long afghani street
There was that listing by "ACTIVISION" on Amazon japan for the "Modern Warfare Trilogy"
(And in UK under "Activision classics")
Maybe it'll include the remaster

not worth it then
This just seems like it will split the playerbase between people who just want to play a remastered version of Modern Warfare and those that actually want to play Infinite Warfare. They should have just built it into the game ala zombies in Treyarch games and have it be some sort of "historical simulation" if they are going the far-future sci fi route.

How will this split anything? People who want IW only get the normal edition, people who want MW get the combo box. It doesn't split anything at all.If anything it combines them since people who want MW might also try out IW
i'd flush out 30-40$ for a MW1 remake if it means a revitalized player base
The playerbase is gonna be big enough that any split isn't going to be noticeable

Not really related to the COD4 remake but this was uploaded
The only way I'd care would be if a PC remastered had untouched multiplayer, with the crazy high cap servers and mods, no COD game other than WAW has captured the larger battles and maps, or hell, the hudless, nearly silent 40 minute matches of S&D where, despite there being 36 or so people, you didn't see an enemy until either of you killed the other

Welp, Nuketown in BO3's ending cutscene was updated to have a strange futuristic ship in the sky and that skull and the logo seen appear at the end. With the 'nuketown offline' appearing here, it almost seems like they destroyed it themselves.
If this isn't a full-blown sci-fi game I don't know what to expect.
I always joked that they just copy pasted Call of Duty and sold it. Now they're literally doing it

Is that Adam Driver?
so you HAVE to buy infinite warfare in order to get MW1?
are you begging to split up your playerbase?
There isn't anywhere saying that the remake won't be sold separately though.

Sounds like something Harbinger from Mass Effect would say (or any other reaper really).

This thumbnail gives me such Quake 4 vibes; bad ass army officer, shaved head, green body armor and orange/yellow screens in a dark room:
It's still worth it I think, mainly because this means the game will finally get more players.
As a standalone solo purchase yes, as in excluding Infinite Warfare (what a title)
CoD 4 was simple, and solid as fuck. None of that zip zapping superhuman tektektektek taktaktaktak garbage seen nowadays.

64 player Crossfire was my favourite. It felt like the singleplayer campaign, because there was no bullshit spawns. Everyone spawned on the side their team was at, and if they wanted to backstab the enemy, they actually had to flank on the hush hush.
It was absolutely sublime to sneak into the appartments in Bloc to meet the enemy's back on the other side of the map and killing them all from behind with the silenced Mp5.
Nowadays, you just spawn randomly somewhere, and if the map's too small, you'll either kill someone right away or die.

I remember my free weekend experience with Modern Warfare 3 was essentially filled with spawning with a guy rushing in from around the corner and killing me before I had time to realize what was going on.
Including three times in a row behind a narrow fence post between me and him and he just casually mows me down each time.

When I played BO2 I remember usually spawning on both main spawns (left and right side of the map)

Trailer for those who haven't seen it. I take back what I said earlier, I'd pay an extra $20 for MW Remastered. I figured it was just going to be an HD re-release for the new generation like the Resident Evil HD games, but not a ground up remake like the Halo Anniversary editions.
The downside is, you need to buy Infinite Warfare to get it
I've been wanting a Modern Warfare remaster for a long time now. Brings back good memories of playing it with friends back in the day. So glad this is happening.
fuck everything.
Now COD is providing what may be ground to space combat (or at least space ship combat if that was just a cinematic from the singleplayer, which it most likely is) that fucking Battlefront couldn't provide?
And it's going to be a IW game? To be fair, this is their first 3 year development game after sledgehammer became one of their COD dev houses, maybe some extra time was all they needed to make a better cod?
Either way I ain't buying because I've had my fill of COD.
We pay that much for a new game over here
Also IW COD = A V O I D
wtf are you on COD4 was made by IW and it is arguably the COD game that launched this cash cow. COD4 is still, arguably, the best COD game produced.
fuck everything.

It's unlikely to be anything special. Black Ops 2 had a piloting section that was essentially on rails with just enough freedom for you to avoid being shot. You were still somewhat forced in a certain direction and it lasted for exactly five minutes in a single mission.
This is unlikely to be any different and almost certainly is not "ground to space" combat. I honestly don't think the IWEngine can handle environments in such a way to even approximate that feeling.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/modern-warfare-remaster-wont-be-a-standalone-release
God damnit.
It'll probably be standalone at some point right?

TBH this is what I'm expecting.
But at least there's a hint of cool space combat in comparison to Battlefront, which comes from an IP that fucking has space wars practically in its name.

IW team that made cod4 != Current IW team
