Ubisoft Dev says Valve Should Outsource Half-Life 3

Sounds like a great idea to hand over the most beloved franchise the PC has. Also let's make sure Memelands' writing staff is on it!

We should have bets to see who can guess how many views the Half-Life 3 announced thread will have and how long it will stay in the first page.

A few of the portable Zeldas were made by Capcom as well IIRC.
Valve makes so much money with the "GabeN" memes and "Hl3" memes that they dont need to make a game. If they make a game i think it would be a fan service made by a couple people from Valve.
Companys make games to make money and valve makes ontop of the hype a shit ton of money with steam and tf2.
Give it 3 or 4 more years. Dont expect anything and it will happen.

Yeah, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, my favorite Zelda games.
On-topic: It's literally one guy from the San-Francisco branch of Ubi that said this, I don't understand why everyone is acting as if this is the official stance of the company as a whole.
FUCK NO FUCK OFF. That is all, end of story, case closed.

Valve has been slacking while they should really be playing the role of Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. They should be paying developers to create exclusive PC titles in order to promote the platform.
maybe ubisoft should outsource assasin's creed first and see how well it works (actually its probably better that way, not nearly as much bugs or DRM)
I wish I could be this stupid, life would be so much simpler.
I actually can't stand Ubisoft.
I posted on their customer service forums a few weeks back basically telling them how shit they are and how angry I am over how fucking UNPLAYABLE Far Cry 3 Multiplayer is.

Half-Life 3: Modern Warfare
I wasn't aware the gearbox expansions were considered official canon (maybe by some fans...?)
As far as I know, only Blue-Shift got accepted as canon by Valve
they probably will tbh
Valve sucks as a game-making studio now. When was their last original idea even?

Ubisoft has nothing to do with Borderlands or Anthony Burch
Pretty sure it was the original L4D. As everything else after that was them absorbing ideas and mods of other people. Granted those games were great and fantastic, they're not really Valve games at heart. Portal definitely wasn't Valve's idea in the first place either.
Out of ANYONE, I'd prefer Gearbox to do it SOLELY because they did blueshift and opposing force, and I enjoyed those.
With that being said, I still would prefer that only Valve did it, but if they had to chose someone else I guess I would prefer gearbox
On second thought I'd really love to play a Half-Life game by GSC Game World

no l4d was turtle rock originally. half life is the only IP that valve conceived and finalized all by themselves without absorbing teams or studios to do it for them
Based on recent Valve trends I'd be okay with having another company co develop in the very least

there would be no females in the entire game
Half Life 3 made by Telltale.
Actually Telltale game that would take place in Half-Life universe could be interesting.
Actually anything that would expand and shine some more light/information about Half-Life universe would be nice.
So all the Gordon's dialogue options would be like "..."?
Valve really does seem to be like some estranged publisher nowadays than a developer studio. I've lost all hope for the next Half Life. They're most likely going to focus on how Source 2 will change Dota 2 and L4D2 for the next 2+ years I imagine. Maybe after or during that we can expect a new announcement. If that announcement isn't Half Life what's even the point?
Valve have always snapped up smaller developers/modders and hired them to make games, apart from Half Life, no Valve games are original.
So all the Gordon's dialogue options would be like "..."?
I'm just imagining a DasBoSchitt video of Gordon talking to someone, and all he can do his flail his arms and give weird expressions.
I just feel like no matter what happens the next installment of Half Life is going to be a disappointment. It's flat out not going to have the magic that made Half Life 2 groundbreaking (pretty much what all HL fans want), because the team, spirit, and everything about Valve from that era does not exist anymore.

Im thinking of it being like what happened to Black Mesa; it was super hyped, and when it was released it was pretty good, but didnt live up to the hype.
Half Life 3 has got to bring a lot more to the table than physics see-saw puzzles and a new engine that has just caught up to industry standard after almost a decade.
I would like to see what happens when their art teams today make a new Half Life world. Compare Portal 2 to Half Life 2 visually. That's one of the few things I can think of that will probably be good no matter what though.

The fans of Half Life are more excited for another Half Life game than the company making it, is the thing. It (Half Life) was still in hype sequence for many years after nothing, because we had this idea that it was being super-behind-the-scenes worked on- when in actuality, Valve just flat out didn't want to do anything Half Life for many years.

Read the article. They're saying hand it off to Gearbox.
Gearbox isn't the company that created Brothers in Arms and Half Life: Opposing Force anymore.
