ah fuck, alright acknowledged, snipping post.
tbh i think its rather cunty to be abusing spotify. they're a really great service that makes listening to and enjoying music convenient and cheap while making sure artists get paid via the money generated by ads and subscription fees.
I feel like it'd be justified if you're premium since you're still paying them and if you download their songs you use even less of their bandwidth. Of course then there's morality issues where you cancel your premium membership but retain their songs.

which is why there's no reason to rip the files from spotify unless you're just going to cancel your sub and not support the service..

You can't play your own local files (as far as I'm aware) on their app, so you're forced to choose between your local songs and your spotify songs. Also you can't fucking do shuffle on your mobile playlists. That's annoying as fuck.
I did the 48 hour free trial and it was amazing but again I don't like paying month-to-month, I prefer to buy it for say $120 for 12 months and pay another $120 the next year, that would be better
i do both of these things on a daily basis and neither of them make ripping spotify off ok
I'm not really sure what this means Does this mean that I'm wrong about their app's lack of features because I'd love to be corrected about the shuffle.
I'm not really sure what this means Does this mean that I'm wrong about their app's lack of features because I'd love to be corrected about the shuffle.
press the shuffle button
press the shuffle button
?

I've been paying for it since it first came to the US. $10 is cheap enough for the amount of music I listen to. I don't know how I'd survive without it (listening to radio in the car is worse than the bubonic plague).

Oh wow I found the shuffle button You have to click the song that's currently playing that's kind of dumb as fuck
yep thats dumb as fuck time to steal from spotify because i couldnt find the shuffle button
yep thats dumb as fuck time to steal from spotify because i couldnt find the shuffle button
never said I stole from spotify
yep thats dumb as fuck time to steal from spotify because i couldnt find the shuffle button
Could you please be quiet about that? I've acknowledged it is wrong and I'm not going on about it but you are. And by the way, I don't use spotify on my mobile because 1. I don't have premium 2. I have local tracks of what I listen to on spotify 3. I only listen to spotify on a desktop and now this
Those scrubs made it directly download MP3s. That means that to "rip" an MP3 from spotify you just play the song, look at the MP3 it downloaded and right-click save as. It won't be long before somebody makes an automatic ripper.
there's really no point to doing that
geel doesn't rip from spotify either, he said you can if you want but he wasn't encouraging nor endorsing it.
i was talking to geel..
my argument was not that it's right to steal from Spotify, but that there are reasons--besides cancelling your service after downloading your songs--to download your songs from Spotify whilst still paying them. Evidently the points I provided were incorrect and so I concede that there is no apparent reason to download songs from Spotify.
Is the "Disable AdBlock for a better experience" true or just so they can get their ad revenue?
Revenue.
How is Spotify better than Pandora? I'm subscribed to Pandora, and it's been doing me good for the time I've been using it.
How is Spotify better than Pandora? I'm subscribed to Pandora, and it's been doing me good for the time I've been using it.
I like Spotify more because I can pick the music I want to listen to as oppose to it throwing random stuff at me.
I used to use Spotify, as iirc it's not as good at discovering new music as Pandora is (which is the main reason I use Pandora). Spotify is great for if you have a specific song in mind you want to play, but that's about it. [editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
I like Spotify more because I can pick the music I want to listen to as oppose to it throwing random stuff at me.
The stuff Pandora throws at me is usually stuff I like, so it's all good.
Spotify is awesome. Though recently I ran out of listening time, even though I had been playing music daily for 2-3 months without any sort of warning :/ Came out of nowhere.
I just commute between my Facebook account and my older Spotify account :v:
I did the 48 hour free trial and it was amazing but again I don't like paying month-to-month, I prefer to buy it for say $120 for 12 months and pay another $120 the next year, that would be better
There are 1 month, 3 month and 6 month cards to buy in many stores in Sweden. Don't know about your country though.
Spotify Premium is 10€ per month here in Finland. I'm using it mostly because of the super-handy app for my Android. You just need to add songs to your playlist on PC and it syncs it with your phone if it's on WLAN. I use Offline playlists (it downloads the songs to your phone) because the 3G-network here is shifty. For example, at the moment it seems to be completely down in this area, nobody here can connect to 3G. :v:
I find spotify premium worth the subscription, mobile and ad-less playing is so useful.
