In addition to the games and cross-media integration detailed, Microsoft took the opportunity to capitalize on the success of the live-action – and completely free – Web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn by announcing a new live-action Halo television series, created in partnership with developer 343 Industries and Steven Spielberg himself.
http://screenrant.com/halo-tv-show-steven-spielberg/
Hope there's some Rooster Teeth stuff in it, like the easter eggs they put in Halo 4.
Be wary. Just because Spielberg is producing it doesn't make it good. Just look at Falling Skies...
This is probably the only thing I think will be decent.
I feel like they're a few years too late, I used to be big into halo, but I haven't played a single one since 3. That might just be me, but I still think this should've happened earlier in its popularity.
The thing that stinks is that its probably going to be based around Halo 4. Personally, I find the Halo 1-3 storyline a lot more interesting than 4's.

I think the reason why they are working on it now is because the popularity is decreasing.
Reports say it's an adaption of Peter Jackson's Halo Chronicles.
Source?
Unfortunately this isn't really going to be a big draw for anyone since you know, video can be captured/converted/uploaded. They need to focus on games.
Make it a little less like Forward Until Dawn and more like Landfall and it'll be alright.
The thing that stinks is that its probably going to be based around Halo 4. I just hope they stick with the original Halo artystyle and direction, not what Halo 4 had
I wonder if they're going to follow the games' storyline, the books' storyline, or something new?
I for one don't mind a Halo series being produced if it has the same artstyle as the web-series and shows us some part of pre-halo 1.
Terra Nova.
oh good lord why did you remind me
I enjoyed Terra Nova, I was sad when it was cancelled. I'm excited for this.

Producer credits in Hollywood mean absolutely jack shit. "Producer" can mean anything from "The person who made this entire thing happen" to "The person we paid to attach their same to our project so we look credible". This is just Microsoft wanting to milk more money out of their one-and-only megasuccessful IP without much hands-on involvement or expendature.
It's stupid that they never came out with one movie. I don't even like Halo anymore. It's a shame seeing a decade old series go from being great to something pretty bad. I really wanted a Fall of Reach film at least.

Imagine something like Band of Brothers in the Halo universe...
Be wary. Just because Spielberg is producing it doesn't make it good. Just look at Falling Skies...
Falling skies is fine??? What the fuck are you talking about?
Falling skies is fine??? What the fuck are you talking about?
He is saying the exact opposite.
He is saying the exact opposite.
I'm saying its fine. Theres nothing wrong with falling skies. Its nothing special, but its a damn sight better than a lot of TV series.
Fucking called it while watching the conference with my brother that "A TV series would fit with how this conference has gone thus far"
Imagine something like Band of Brothers in the Halo universe...
Band of Brothers, IN SPAAAAAAAACE That would be amazing.
Seeing the war against the covenant from a marine perspective would be interesting. Of course the character development would be hard to pull off seeing as how the covenant eats normal humans for breakfeast. Or they could do spartans because, well spartans are badass.
