And just as the kids in Pensacola got a break. It was cool as hell to see them the first time, but after 3 years of hearing them flying above my barracks constantly the wonder and awe kinda faded away.
I'm stationed in Pensacola (VT-10) and their hanger is literally like 100 yards away. It's so badass when you're sitting in class and you hear the Blues engines spin up, it instills a feeling of "fuck yea" in the air. They fly all the time over the base, but i'm glad they're getting out again.
Was disappointed last summer when they didn't fly for the middies graduating from the naval academy. Can't wait to see them be awesome again.
The Blue Angels was one of the last shows I took my grandpa to before he died, he was a Royal Air Force veteran but he had altzheimer's so he didn't remember his AF background. Nonetheless he still enjoyed the show a lot more than most shows I took him to, even if he didn't remember why he enjoyed the show more than he enjoyed most other shows. I'm glad they are coming back because they will always remind me of him.
