Yeah well, all your country is famous for is Ikea and ABBA.
And PewDiePie
Wow, the glorifying of Britain's history is ridiculous on this scale. Greater resilence? Russia at that. Bigger heart? No idea what he meant, but probably that one will be the only true one.
Well Russia's resilience is often put down to the weather hindering invasion.

No idea what he meant, but probably that one will be the only true one.
Not to mention getting their shipping shot to shit by U-boats in both world wars causing famine and starvation, while in the second world war getting the shit bombed out of every city. They didn't have millions of disposable people like Russia did, but they managed to pull through. They even invented the tank, the jet engine, and radar while they were at it.
Thread about Britain, waiting for the posts about us having nothing to do with ending WWII
"Britain is an island that has helped to clear the European continent of fascism and was resolute in doing that throughout the Second World War.
Oh except the part where the idea of fascism was so popular in Britain and America the 20's and early 30's?
Oh except the part where the idea of fascism was so popular in Britain and America the 20's and early 30's?
Fascism wasn't popular in Britain, people would beat up fascists in the streets.
What's wrong with getting no attention?
Fascism wasn't popular in Britain, people would beat up fascists in the streets.
You guys got football for that.
Oh except the part where the idea of fascism was so popular in Britain and America the 20's and early 30's?
Fascism was never really that big in America. It was considered just another party. Another thing that people like to gloss over was how in the early 20th century, pretty much all of western society was hugely racist and bigoted and that only really started to come to an end after they realized the extent of the Holocaust.
And PewDiePie
And Swebonny. Best IKEA mod.
and blonde people.
Isn't that for all Germanic countries?
Greater resilence?
Probably the fact that we've fended off invasions for centuries and forged a massive empire at one point in our history.
I completely disagree with the 'invented most things worth inventing', because I know that at least to be completely untrue. Britain was certainly good at adapting the technologies of other civilizations, whether those be from Arabia, India, the Orient, or the rest of Europe.
The British did independently invent several important inventions, mostly for the purposes of industrial use. For instance, it's undisputed that the British invented the railway locomotive, which was one of the most important inventions in history.
"find a country with a prouder history, a bigger heart or greater resilience" Joke of the century.
-SNIP, DONT POST AT 1AM IN THE MORNING KIDDIES-
Putin really is a tosser
"find a country with a prouder history, a bigger heart or greater resilience" Joke of the century.
Prove him wrong then. No really find a country with a longer history of success than us.
"find a country with a prouder history, a bigger heart or greater resilience" Joke of the century.
As a citizen of Britain's Bastard Child, I'd like you to try and prove him wrong and find another one :v:
That's actually an overblown myth, there wasn't THAT much zerg rushing in tactics. Doesn't change the fact that our country's a shithole tho :v:
Well I don't know what kind of tactics were in force but most British seem to remember WW1 has a large sacrifice of good young men who were forced into conscription (although not initially), I thought by WW2 the Russians were conscripting civilians into the army. So I feel thanks should go to the people who fought and died, rather than to the nation, its easy being the one to order civilians to fight than to do the fighting yourself.
Prove him wrong then. No really find a country with a longer history of success than us.
If success you mean invading claiming countries then selling them over and over for your own profit then look down on everyone else and claim the citizens are the most superior then there is none.
Prove him wrong then. No really find a country with a longer history of success than us.
It's true. People say the British are a bit wet and crap, but arguably they've left an impact on the world just as big, if not bigger than the Roman Empire in its heyday.
If success you mean invading claiming countries then selling them over and over for your own profit then look down on everyone else and claim the citizens are the most superior then there is none.
Isn't that the United States?
Isn't that the United States?
How many countries have we bought then sold? None. You proved my point with the superior thing just by your response.
Well Russia's resilience is often put down to the weather hindering invasion.
I must say that Russia has almost always been under someone's rule till the end of the Golden Horde invasion. Britain, apart from Roman invasion, had none of those. Russia endured a fucking lot what Britain hadn't dreamt of.
Isn't that the United States?
For a little bit. We ain't got shit on the British Empire though.
If success you mean invading claiming countries then selling them over and over for your own profit then look down on everyone else and claim the citizens are the most superior then there is none.
You're just describing Europe in general.
How many countries have we bought then sold? None. You proved my point with the superior thing just by your response.
It's known that US has a habit of manipulating countries for their own gain though, and there are citizens that have a clear superiority complex (see: the 'MURICA bunch).
It seems strange that the language of a group of near-savages living in a foggy and damp island on the periphery of Medieval Europe, managed to become essentially the most widespread one on the planet. (China doesn't count, the vast majority is within their own borders).
How many countries have we bought then sold? None. You proved my point with the superior thing just by your response.
How does one buy and sell a country? I do know America bought land and proceeded to genocide the native population over a period of time though.
How does one buy and sell a country? I do know America bought land and proceeded to genocide the native population over a period of time though.
This really got going in the mid 19th century. After acquiring all this land from various treaties (most of it unmapped and unsettled), it actually takes more when you set up a log cabin in the wilderness. Especially when the Indians come round and ask you why you are there, and you show them a piece of paper saying you own the land. They would disagree and insist that their tomahawk says that they owned the land. One things leads to another, and soon enough you have to bring in the army.
How many countries have we bought then sold? None. You proved my point with the superior thing just by your response.
We never eviscerated the natives of our land though.
