Not if he has anything to say about it. He had scandals and election fraud written all over him last elections and he's already tried to censor voting with the "Fair Elections Act" which thankfully has been neutered. I genuinely think he's going to try and rig the next federal elections. He is a crook and a scumbag. He wants nothing more than to abuse his position to line his pockets.
Current polls put him about 5% less than the liberals. I guess we'll see around election time, but even if he doesn't fuck up within the next year it will be a Trudeau minority government.
This.. I.. Hmmm. this government truly scares me.
Get out of there Bradyns, this world needs you
As someone who's never preferenced a Coalition candidate above a Labor candidate, who goes to public university, who works part-time, who receives rent assistance from the government, who doesn't have private healthcare, I would never advocate for the assassination of a Coalition PM (or any other member of parliament). The fact that there are people out there who have the mentality that it's not only okay, but 'great' to assassinate someone they disagree with scares me more than any change that Abbott or his Ministry would ever introduce.
While I agree it's terrible to want that, I can understand why people think that way. Abbot is the kind of person who does not give a damn about the future, he wants allow businesses short-term profit at the cost our long-term future. People are worried about our planet and men like him destroying it for everyone else. It's easy to understand why people would prefer him dead.

But saying that, those policies are insufficient. I can't believe you have me defending Abbott. And sorry, I still can't believe people would prefer him dead. Maybe if he was a dictator who ruled with an iron fist and showed no mercy, but that's obviously not the case. These people would watch the world burn if it meant they could be king of the ashes.
Mr Abbott flagged intentions to build a new centre-right alliance led by Canada, Britain and Australia along with India and New Zealand.
Ok time for Justin Trudeau. Even if his only political policy is to use high quality conditioner every morning he won't take us down this road of stupidity and that can only be a good thing.
I'm so sorry
How stupid can one man be?
Lol so the American is actually the more progressive of the bunch? Pinch me I'm dreaming.
Send Obama to Australia. We love him over here. You can have Abbott.
Lol so the American is actually the more progressive of the bunch? Pinch me I'm dreaming.
Our centre-right is what the US perceives as 'left'. Abbott still supports our universal healthcare system, even if he is partially undermining it with the GP tax, he still supports the government issuing loans to uni students (to pay for uni courses) that cannot default (you only pay them off if you earn enough). Unlike the Republicans who would vomit at the thought of raising taxes, Abbott does not push that idea off of the table especially with the proposed increase in the highest personal income tax bracket (>$180,000) from 45% to 47%, and he's against corporate welfare (although arguably that has cost jobs at Holden and Qantas). We're still miles ahead of the US in progressiveness, and even if our politics is dominated by the Coalition for another decade and US politics is dominated by the Democrats for another decade, we'd still be more progressive.
Abbott you stupid cunt holy shit.
Send Obama to Australia. We love him over here. You can have Abbott.
yeah nah
His plan is literally to benefit himself and his friends, and set them up for the rest of their lives. When he gets voted out next election (And he will get voted out), he's got his daughter a nice big scholarship, his big business friends are making more money than ever, no one will give a shit about the environment, and huge amount of tax will come straight from young people in university and sick people who go to the doctor. Both are obviously very wealthy and can afford all these new tax policies.
Update on this: the UK and New Zealand tell him to fuck off.
The UK's conservative climate and energy minister has rejected suggestions his government could form an alliance of "like-minded" nations with Australia to oppose carbon pricing. Greg Barker has put an end to Prime Minister Tony Abbott's dream that a group of five countries could be formed to undermine global moves to install carbon pricing and challenge a push by US President Barack Obama for stronger international regulation of climate change. In moves that show Australia is increasingly isolated on the subject, New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key has also said he was caught off-guard by the idea of an alliance and signalled his government has no intention of walking away from its emissions trading scheme. The comments leave Canada, with its anti-carbon tax prime minister Stephen Harper as Australia's only likely ally on the subject. Mr Barker told British media on Wednesday that the UK would not be joining Australia to challenge international regulation of carbon emissions. ''I think you can take it the UK won't be joining an alliance against regulation. We are engaged with Australia and New Zealand, encouraging them to take a responsible proactive part in seeking an ambitious global treaty on climate change,'' he said. In New Zealand, a spokeswoman for Mr Key said Mr Abbott had not spoken to him about the suggestion of a group of five countries but hosed down any suggestion New Zealand would be part of it. ''This government takes climate change seriously,'' the spokeswoman said. ''That is why we were one of the first countries to introduce a comprehensive emissions trading scheme and why we're actively involved in international climate change efforts.''
http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/britain-new-zealand-reject-tony-abbotts-idea-for-alliance-to-block-action-on-climate-change-20140612-39yws.html
