Playing video games made me learn how to break gravity. :downs:

But yeah, I really do feel that if video games were banned, than the economy would take a massive hit as well.
We love you too parents...
Impeded progress at what? I'm not talking about schoolwork. I won't say anything about what it does to schoolwork because hell if I know.
EDIT: I used to be that faggot telling his mom not to vote for Hilary Clinton for president because she had a part in GTA: San Andreas's Hot Coffee controversy. Now I look at myself, and I say "What good have video games done for me? And what harm?" And you know what? There are few if any benefits. The few are restricted to stuff that some studies talk about like faster reflexes or whatever. Big deal.
Well yeah, video games are almost like a drug. You buy them, take them home and then indulge in them. Sometimes you can get addicted. There are no practical benefits, that's not what they're there for.
I don't see the problem here, and the OP seems to be stuffed so full of knee-jerk ranting that he forgot to actually quote the article itself and only linked to it. Really if anything doesn't this proposed law put more responsibility on the parents, seen as it's now up to them to let the kids have the game or not?
Oh shit. Here goes again.
Children who can see the difference between reality and fiction should have their M games. People who think there's totally no difference between it and think they can go killing everyone like a god should not have their gorey GTA games but stick to overly happy kiddylike Wii games.
I played Battlefield, I'm going to go buy a gun and do a school shooting because that's totally what video games make people do.
Honestly, video games have immensely helped my vocabulary. I remember taking the SAT I knew lots of words from games like WoW and Mass Effect and such.
Parents are too stupid and too lazy to control their children, therefore they should have children so that way they can't make stupid excuses for their atrocious parenting.

Damn I love Europe.
Good thing Germany banned the good ones right?
I learned basic anatomy and simple logistics from Dwarf Fortress.
Thank god my parents aren't ignorant. Mine let me play mortal kombat on sega all the time. And my dad gave me a porn mag when I was around 7
My dad bought me Battlefield Vietnam when I was in 4th grade.
Do you see me walking around pretending to "still be in 'Nam"? Of course not, because by and large children who have been brought up well know the difference between reality and fiction.
If the logic that "kid's can't realize the difference between what's real and what's not" is applied to books, then wouldn't kids walk around pretending to fly dragons and shouting out to Azlan in Narnia? But they don't. And books use the mind in many more ways than video games.
God dammit there's a rating on the game cover for a reason
Video games have teached me alot.
Thanks to alot of games I learned english.
Thanks to Mafia II I can look at my speed meter while still looking at the road.
etc.
For every person who gets some form of mental problem through videogames, your going to have atleast 50 others who fake the mental problem to get attention and/or to have some form of way to blame something.
I clicked the link and read the article.
Video Game Ban does not equal a ban to selling rated M video games to minors.
Most books and movies have much more meaning than video games. With the possible exception of Bioshock.
Because Anthony Horowitz writes all those Alex Rider books and JK Rowling writes all those Harry Potter books because of their deep and symbolic meaning, am I right?
If you kill someone because of a game, you're surely already mentally handicapped before starting.

yeah, most movies don't teach us anything, let's ban them. You know what, most stories don't teach us anything either, I mean witches and wizards, that's so dumb, let's ban books to. And you know what's the worst? TV. Lets just ban all of it.
Im probably late but dosent the Supreme Court have other things to be worrying about?
Around 50% of parents play video games, so those statistics don't really add up.
72% of parents are overprotective idiots.
I learned to read using video games.
Me too!
Ok if they want to ban videogames then they'll also have to ban football on television and shows where women control men's lives. That covers everything parents like.
Videogames don't affect me, I'd like to shoot idiots who think that
Its cartoon network and disney and all other idiotic cartoon channels where creatures on screen act like idiots and children learn from that.
I have a 9 year old brother, he watched those channels all day long during the summer, sometimes with his friends and acts dumb and growls like a beast when he doesent like something etc.
your bros a furry, bro.
It's the same 70% of reactionary mob that wanted to ban D&D, Rock and Roll, and every new generational culture phenomenon before that.
In other news "A clockwork orange" is to be introduced into the curriculum.
I accidentally watched that on cable when I was 8.
Penn and teller talked about videogame violence... Well penn did anyways.
They let a 9 year old (who played tons of violent games) 'serial killing monster' fire a gun....
He ended up crying hanging on to his mom because he was being trained subliminally to be a ruthless killer
Video games taught me many great things such as reading, spelling and simlish. :D

Its because the realization of the urge to turn around and shoot everyone was too much for his little mind to take so he cried
