In an interview with BBC Persian TV Mr Netanyahu said that if Iranians were free they would wear blue jeans, and listen to Western music. Hundreds of Iranians both in Iran and abroad reacted on social media sites. Many posts showed mainly young Iranians wearing jeans and listening to Western music, some in comic poses. Others mocked up scenes from ancient Persian history with the protagonists wearing denim.
Well duh, the three major signs of democratization is internet use, literacy, and denim.
Others mocked up scenes from ancient Persian history with the protagonists wearing denim.
Oh man I totally want to see this. Shapur I and Khusrau II jamming it in Ctesiphon with Emperor Valerian all in their fancy denim.

The combover has gotten to him.

I like blue jeans, I only have one pair of pants that aren't blue jeans. btw, were any of the "young iranians" female? edit: My point was that they still have a long way to come before they will be free.
I played World of Tanks with this random guy, he is really into Iron Maiden and Judas Priest singing along to it and he made jokes about the NSA, about Middle East politics and stuff then you can hear in the background his family talking and watching tele. I had known him for a few weeks but never knew where he was from I assumed Germany or somewhere continental but when he came on teamspeak and I saw the Iranian flag it was the most surreal thing. When his internet loses connection he always comes back and screams down the mic "I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME ROUHANI, GET ME A BETTER INTERNET!!!!" Just unbelievably surreal.

He singled out Neda Agha-Soltan, a young woman who was fatally shot by unknown assailants during the street protests. Her killing, captured on video, turned her into a symbol of young, modern Iranians taking a stand against their leaders. “I saw her choke in her own blood,” Mr. Netanyahu said in the interview, which was dubbed into Persian. No one disputed the horror of Ms. Agha-Soltan’s death. But many did note she had been wearing jeans. “Netanyahu saw Neda die, but didn’t notice she wore jeans,” said a Twitter user with the handle Mohammadmojiran, who said he was a Web developer from Tehran.
NYT
what it this Iranians enjoying an Israeli band
See. We Iranians are just as retarded as everybody else. And it is true, Iranians are obsessed with western culture. Well, except for my mom's one weird racist cousin who thinks Iranians are the best. Luckily we shipped him off to Australia. Koala Bears are probably feasting on his skinny ass right now.
But didn't Iran have a lot of western culture in the 70's?
But didn't Iran have a lot of western culture in the 70's?
Yeah but it all disappeared when this guy came He clearly hates denim clothing, you can see it in his eyes.
What's with Nety and having fucking charts and graphs whenever he goes to the UN?
For a second I thought that was Sean Connery.
It is. Connery as an outspoken advocate of eliminating the denim industry in its entirety.
Everytime I see young Iranians in Iran they look like they're living in the 80s or early 90s. Its pretty interesting considering all of the 80s haircuts specifically banned in the country.
