Trump Administration Has Frozen the EPA and Barred Multiple Agencies From Speaking to the Press

Tbh, I tend to assume the worst case scenario when it comes to politics, because it's much harder to get played if you are always taking everything with a healthy dose of cynicism.
I knew Trump would be bad but holy shit this much this quickly surpasses even my worst expectations.
4 days in and we already have some seriously sinister shit being pulled. I understand that in the current us vs them climate makes it hard for some people to back down, for fear of ~losing points~ to the other side- but seriously, nobody fucking wants this right??
A bit harsh but generally yes, I wouldn't take political insight from someone who still thinks Brexit was a good idea with much seriousness.
Maybe it is a bit harsh. There's a line to be found where a poster is capable of having useful insight into an alternative way of thinking, and lucky the mods have done an alright job keeping people on the wrong side of that line off fp or at least restricted to "post and duck out" style of posting. I actually like reading posts by Tudd and the crew of resident conservatives because they're usually at least willing to explain their position without being too big of a dick about it. Obviously they have an alternative agenda to my own more often than not so there's bound to be ideological differences that simmer down to stuff I may not be able to agree with on principle, but I can at least usually get a grasp of their train of thought. Which is important for civil discussion to take place where we all actually benefit as people from having it. People like Boilrig just post garbage and never explain it in any coherent way. It reads like a mad man rambling back propaganda and circular logic. He's like an edgy 13 year old who just discovered anarchism and nihilism and decided that was him now.

I've never been reminded of so many of my older posts than recently.
Gee I wonder if Trump can top my expectations again for how scary this administration is by actually taking legal action against these people.
Take that topic and combine it with this one.
Surely even he realizes this kind of censorship is going to tank his already terrible favorability? Then again, what does it matter now that he's not campaigning.
Surely even he realizes this kind of censorship is not going to work out in his favor?
Last year or so made me reconsider whether he is actually responsible for his own success.
He might just be plain stupid and mask it with charisma and lots of yelling.
I just don't understand how the dude has any support at all. Particularly on this site.
This isn't a game, you can't just dig up a particularity harrowing article about some left wing person/feminist/minority-you-dislike who did a dumb thing and suddenly the scores are tied and all is well.
Whatever ~side~ you have decided to back, full on censorship of views the government doesn't like?
:bullshit:

Of course he is, he's a self made man [sp]small loan of a million dollars,[/sp] a true rags to riches story.
You clearly have no fucking clue how the US government works.
No fucking shit, apparently the US government isn't anything close to any other government on the planet, you might as well enlighten me to why a directive can't be handed from the Administration down to a government department, but if that was true, this thread wouldn't exist in the first place if he couldn't do it.
Of course he is, he's a self made man [sp]small loan of a million dollars,[/sp] a true rags to riches story.
You forgot how he self-made his dad's business when he inherited it.
I think in the case of Facepunch it's largely a mix of "I fuck up so bad I could never admit to this", actual genuine stupidity and ignorance, and also a healthy dose of trolling and shitposting.
The sad part are the people who really do actually thing Drumpf is doing a good job. That is both terrifying and disgusting.
It's almost exhausting, it feels like the election hasn't ended. Can't we all just agree to try and hold him accountable for any heinous shit he does pull? Nope apparently some people must defend him no matter what.
I guess on the bright side the more effort he puts into killing any support he had from moderates the less likely he is to get a second term unless the DNC proves themselves to be literally retarded in 2020.

They already did, they lost to Trump.
Nah.
Democracy that doesn't protect those who aren't in power is not democracy.
Democracy curbs the power of psychotic cuntfucks who fool people into voting for them.
I specifically said the US's democratic system, by no means did i mean to say it's how democracy should be.
And yes technically it's still democracy.
So, are we allowed to be worried yet? Are we allowed to make comparisons to dictators now? Or is it still too early to tell?
now THIS... THIS is the kind of thing that should put you in full panic freak the fuck out mode
his agenda is so blatantly wrong its not even funny
is trump going to break the record for shortest term in the presidential office
Here's hoping he breaks William Henry Harrison's record of 1 month.
" 'A Digital Strategist' will be coming on board to oversee social media. Existing, Individually controlled, social media accounts may become more centrally controlled."
So... A Censor.

Where in Russia is 'Lithuania' again? I forget which province that is.
They already did, they lost to Trump.
Ehh, the first time I can chalk up to gross underestimation.

So yeah
Friendly reminder that EPA is responsible for testing the quality of drinkable water.
Thanks to glorious leader gagging them the only way people will learn that their source of water is fucked is when they start getting ill or someone covertly informs the media.
At least the booze will still be drinkable.
I have the slightest feeling I won't remember this presidency very well.

I wonder if it'll be remembered for the instances of flammable tap water once Trump deregulates fracking.
I wonder if it'll be remembered for the instances of flammable tap water once Trump deregulates fracking.
We could always go the Mexico route and drink Coca-Cola because the tap water is terrible and, in many places, dangerous. Coca-Cola does their own filtration.
I wonder if it'll be remembered for the instances of flammable tap water once Trump deregulates fracking.
I read that fracking is causing earthquakes in Oklahoma so that is going to be fun.
What's the next step of his master plan?
"Crashing this country... WITH NO SURVIVORS!"
What's the next step of his master plan?

Next step is to criminalize talking about climate change for the general populous.
I honestly don't see what everyone's so upset about. I've always wanted to see a president get impeached in my lifetime. Hell, it's not even so far-fetched at this point.
My country is fucked isn't it? It's only a mater of time before he lets Putin in...
Who the fuck needs your poor sorry ass.
We, however, are first to fall.

If you were alive in the mid-90s then you already did.
You weren't supposed to take it literally, it was the point that he is the leader of the Federal Government and can do what he wants regarding halting media or redirecting media through his Administration before being released.
So, your argument is that because he can do it, it's okay to do it?
If you were alive in the mid-90s then you already did.
Oh right, Clinton. Forgot about him.
