Also, sadly, there will be no titans according to that article. It referenced the Imperial Knight as the largest unit made by Relic yet, #RIP.
Also, the RPG leveling mechanic is still here.
Yus, melee units are more useful. I never played 2 but in 1 I felt almost every melee unit bar the op as fuck ones were completely useless.
sounds like the cover system has been simplified somewhat, it's now more like dow 1 than 2
which i consider to be a good thing, seeing as dow 2's cover system basically fucked up the pathfinding on every unit
the eldar in that trailer give me vibes of that one artist who's name I can never remember

I didn't know FP was a hugbox
Read my first post again, i did say "deliberately overpowered and nerfed a few months later". The last patch had a bunch of nerfs to paid commanders, a few months after they were introduced. That's how they sell these things.
No they didn't, the last patch nerfed the SU Maxim because it was too good. Only had a minor nerf to one of the new UKF ones.
Ok, it's all cool n' awesome but... WHERE THE FUCK IS CHAOS?

my adorable little galaxy eaters ;-;

in a $15 DLC :^)
This will mark the third time that a game specifically about absolutely annihilating droves of mooks will not feature the literal faction of mooks in the initial installment.
Yes, I'm talking about the Imperial Guard. The third goddamn time.
Everything about the space marines seemed anemic.
Orks are tough, but not "casually disassemble space marine armor" tough.
Bolters were once again made puny and weak.
And of course their appearance and general lack of any sort of weight to their armor.
Also I'm pretty sure the space marines operate like the guard: officers have refractor fields to replace their head armor. They aren't simply exposed.
if they have an iron halo they have a shield, but many do go without a helmet just because

A minor nerf that halved one of the bonuses and added a penalty they forgot, they do this for every other commander and some of them go from great to useless. It's terrible even if it's not done maliciously.
Even if the default commanders are viable they're still lacking in heavy vehicles or a certain type of unit that one of the paid commanders will most certainly add, you can always compensate for an army's weaknesses with teammates, that's viable but it's no less shitty that they have a dozen or so vehicles locked behind payments.

Holy shit, this is EXACTLY what I wanted, good job Relic.
Well, I was looking forward to hear about this but now I'm not interested anymore. No Imperial Guard, no buy. I have like no interest in any of the races they include and I get that they want to sell your expansions and DLC later but man, what a missed opportunity.

Zdzisław Beksiński, particularly the building they come out of

It was highly unlikely that the Imperial Guard would have been included straight away in the first place. That would mean two Imperial Factions when they could instead have an Alien faction to get more variety.
I preferred DOW2 over DOW1 but I'd like it if the game plays out like the DOW2 multiplayer in that you have your powerful hero units, and you can call in other units.
I hope Last Stand gets better fleshed out. I really enjoyed it
you guys know they can't just pump out factions like its nothing right? space marine - orks - eldar is the most iconic matchup, so it's 100% reasonable they go with that. it took dow1 three full sized expansions before they could get everyone in.

people are just eternally surprised that the Imperial Guard, the most ordinary faction of all of Warhammer 40k, aren't put front and center in warhammer 40k games
i know this is an opinion that people are going to hate, but like, why are people surprised that the faction of ordinary soldiers isn't included as a first priority over the races that are actually different

And lets be real, Choas is just SM with emotional problems
And lets be real, Choas is just SM with emotional problems
Yeah they're just space marines with daddy issues but they can also field demons and that's cool
And lets be real, Choas is just SM with emotional problems
if online warhammer fanboys decided things about dow3, it'd be two different imperial guard regiments and chaos as the 3 races, 90% of the development time would be spent arguing about how the bolters "don't feel powerful enough", and about 5 people would buy the game
Where the fuck are the Nercons? only 3 factions at launch? God damn it.
Looks real cool otherwise, glad they are going the DOW1 route.

also nobody questioned this, but i'm fairly certain the only point in that trailer where a bolter is fired is where the SM shoots the gretchin and it fucking turns into a cloud of blood

They do this to the Imperial Guard I am never picking up this game.
