Oh yeah
Both of those sound rather silly and stupid, but I will admit the second one is rather over-the-top and sounds more like a guy yelling with an Auto-tune effect echo compared to the first one's mix of a whistle and wookie growl. I could've sworn they had some other sound though on the DVD or special edition release. Or was that just LEGO Star Wars?
I just don't like how the Blu-Ray release has these little CGI extras, like making the Ewok's eyes blink. It just seems unnecessary. It has no effect on the movie as a whole (which is... kind of a good thing?) and as such it feels wasteful.
r.i.p.
I don't know what he changed in the old SW ones but anyone who saw that Phantom Menace review of that one guy( they guy who speaks really weird, forgot the name) will agree that the Prequels can not compare to the first 3 in any way.
i liked his performance in south park
Didn't he create Star Wars? I don't get the criticism. Fair enough i'm not a huge fan of the series, but if he didn't create it i'd understand if he was ruining it. But surely, isn't it his own creation and idea to "ruin" or take forward in the direction he wants? :S
Once you put something out there and charge people to see it, it's not yours anymore, in a very real sense. Star Wars became part of pop culture, a big part of it. Sure he can go back and tinker with it. But why change important character elements? Why not just go back and use new effects technology to clean up the old, dated effects and call it good? That's all the fans wanted.
If Red Tails is as good as he said it is, he better still make a prequel and sequel like he said he would.
I dunno the whole dub step in the trailer worries me that he didn't make that film to respect those who fought in WWII and he instead tried to make a WWII movie for minorities.
I realize that by accident I've now put the black film community at risk [with 'Red Tails,' whose $58 million budget far exceeds typical all-black productions]. I'm saying, if this doesn't work, there's a good chance you'll stay where you are for quite a while. It'll be harder for you guys to break out of that (lower-budget) mold. But if I can break through with this movie, then hopefully there will be someone else out there saying let's make a prequel and sequel, and soon you have more Tyler Perrys out there.
Is George Lucas an idiot? (yes)
Tyler Perry is horrible and people like Lucas are the reason why he has a job (idiot old white people who hire him because they have no idea what blacks like) Also Sam Jackson, Morgan Freeman, and Will Smith off the top of my head are so unknown right? It may get money in the box office (I doubt it) but it will be a shit movie
I honestly don't get why people are so furious over the re-releases of the Original Trilogy. Yeah, they were fine without the little CGI additions and various changes, but by no means does it ruin them. People need to look past the CGI bullshit and remember that it wasn't the special effects that made you fall in love - It was the story and the setting. So thank you George Lucas for creating the Star Wars universe, even though it was Ralph McQuarrie who truly brought the vision to life, and the many authors, including Timothy Zahn, who made the Expanded Universe what it is. Hm.... Come to think of it, we didn't need you after Episode IV.
-snip wrong thread-
uh the thing you have to realize here is that george lucas didn't have the same amount of influence on the original trilogy as he had the prequels the original trilogy was good because there was usually someone there to stop him from getting too carried away with dumb ideas, and let's face it, george lucas is a man full of really, REALLY shitty ideas. then to go and make a trilogy that pretty much shits on everything that made the original trilogy good without anyone brave enough to speak up and say "hey maybe that's not a very good idea mr lucas, here's a suggestion" is a good enough reason to irk fans. there's nothing "entitled" about thinking the new trilogy sucks or that george lucas is to blame because it does and he is. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline] and frankly for you to say that anyone who criticizes the man isn't entitled to an opinion is just fuckin dumb bro
An opinion about a product and the product itself are two completely different things, and the completely moribund statement that you personally somehow "own" a piece of it despite not having authored any of it yourself pretty much shows how completely fucking stupid your argument is. No one forced you to watch any of it, and if you actually had a half a brain in your head, you would have stopped watching after the first one you didn't like. Pretty easy to vote on content with attention and wallet, in either case all you're entitled to is commentary, not proprietorship.

I like how George Lucas likes Formula 1:
It's no coincidence that the best SW movie is the one Lucas neither wrote nor directed.
Actually when the original script writer for ESB died, Lucas changed the script a little. Weren't for that Vader would've never been Luke's father.
This movie is released today (Also made by George Lucas)
This movie is released today (Also made by George Lucas)
I like the idea of that, will watch.
I dunno the whole dub step in the trailer worries me that he didn't make that film to respect those who fought in WWII and he instead tried to make a WWII movie for minorities.
Apparently everything in the movie was done with consent from the original pilots. Going to see it tonight and see if it's any good.
Apparently everything in the movie was done with consent from the original pilots. Going to see it tonight and see if it's any good.
Well that trailer veger posted looks a whole lot better than the dubstep piece of shit they've been showing on TV
the CGI kinda looks shitty, but only reason it works in that is because originally they actually had a physical scene... in the new movies EVERYTHING is CGI, so, it looks so fake and edited rather than physically made and "Real", which only looks like shit.
I will agree to that extent. Although CGI has greatly improved the older movies.
I will agree to that extent. Although CGI has greatly improved the older movies.
the CGI in the older movies cluttered the frame and was almost never used for anything good
I don't hate you George Lucas I just want you to stop making changes to the original series.
I guess... better no Star Wars then bad Star Wars?
Actually when the original script writer for ESB died, Lucas changed the script a little. Weren't for that Vader would've never been Luke's father.
It goes without saying that STORY credit goes to Lucas, Star Wars is his invention after all. But story is not script. Script credit though goes to Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote the final shooting script drafts after the first writer died. If, between the work the first writer and Lucas did, the script was finished then Kasdan wouldn't have been brought in.

Are you saying I shouldn't give an opinion because I shouldn't have seen them in the first place? Are you fucking kidding me.
he keeps adding cgi crap to them
i meant like he's unsatisfied with them, he doesn't like them
I'm trying to see where in my post I said I owned star wars on any level and I'm not seeing it, so I'm hoping you're not just a hotheaded retard and you somehow managed to quote the wrong person [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] Yea sure George lucas can do what he wants with his films Doesn't come close to making his edits good decisions [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] And yeah no one forced me to watch it or the sequels. No. Does the rest of the world give a shit that you continued to watch what was in your opinion a horrible franchise update? No. I'm saying your opinion is worthless because it's apparently predicated on the fact you like to punish yourself by continuing to watch what you consider a bad product in the first place, rendering it pretty much pointless, just like this discussion.
Yeah well obviously he does if it caused him to quit big film lmao No opinion is worthless if you legitimately believe this you're an idiot [editline]22nd January 2012[/editline] Guess all film critics should quit their job!
That actually looks pretty good.
That's probably because Aaron McGruder is co writing for it.
