The Age of the Snow Queen is Over: Zootopia now the biggest opening in Disney Animation history

See what I like about Zootopia compared to Frozen, having seen neither, is that Zootopia doesn't have an annoying song that I have to hear about 5000 times a day. So go Zootopia.
Good god, are people still getting riled up about the existence of furries? Just think of them as people who like to cosplay as animals and get on with your life.
It's not very easy to let it slip when people who support it set their avatars on forums to it, bring it up during unrelated topics, and try to roleplay online in front of people who aren't even interested in it/in public places. I'm all for just ignoring them, but you can't really do that in some situations.
It was a good movie and I would recommend it to anyone that likes Disney or Pixar films.
I loved the way the movie portrayed a rather generic message with a very modern look- the fact the 'anti-predator' rhetoric sounds eerily the same as some of the stuff you hear on politics/television these days shows how this movie came at the right time.
And it's super well made to boot.

there's a part of the film where idris elba is yelling hard at the bunny and the whole thing is a joke about frozen and let it go, the lady behind me cracked up hard. The whole movie was full of moments that got a lot of the adults laughing well
What I liked most about it is that it's got a well-thought out story to tell and none of the jokes/interactions felt forced.

I saw it last night and it felt like a breath of fresh air. Some of the subtle jokes I picked up on were:
Bunnyburrow's population continually rising as Judy is on the train
Bunnies are good at multiplying
The Breaking Bad reference
DMV being a piece of shit in general
Shitty floormates
Honestly there was a lot of creativity put into the writing and I appreciated seeing that
I liked it but felt they really crammed in social messages like accepting everyone and "only bunnies can call other bunnies cute"/"you cant just touch a sheeps wool".

They were just silly jokes man.
Good, definitely deserved it. I wantes it to be good and it ended up being better than i'd expected. Liked it enough to go see it twice.

That's not how a movie expected to make 500 million lifetime works.
I would go watch it but it is not even in theaters here yet for another month. Imagine how much more will be added to that $500 million once it is showing in theaters in other countries.
really crammed in social messages like accepting everyone
learning to accept others despite predispositions about who/what they are was the entire core of the plot. The story was even written to lead the viewer to false conclusions several different times before the mystery was actually wrapped up, playing on your own assumptions with incomplete data and how suspects and situations were presented to you over time

I saw a clip of the japanese dub, looked like they actually re-lip-synced the whole thing. I know they replaced a character entirely at one point depending on region (moose news anchor) but that's a whole nother level
What blew me away the most about the movie was just how many themes it had.
I might be the only one but I have a gripe with the title. Last time I checked you also see birds, reptiles, and amphibians in zoos too not just mammals.

I loved all of that, but that fucking song ran their point into the ground, good lord :v: I GET IT

Nah, I have just checked this video and camrip from the internet and the lip-sync is exactly the same. I doubt we will see re-lip-sync of any animated movie until they start animating it automatically.

I found an official clip with the bit I saw of her running back to her parents off the train, easier to see now but dang that's a good coincidence. I'd assume they put some effort into matching lines up as well as they could

also weird jpop version of the song

Thanks to that clip I finally got to view some of the song/artist references on her mp3 player

Wow, you are right. I guess that explains the later showing then. I intend to watch the English version with Japanese subtitles though.

Why am I not surprised, it's Disney.

it's the same clip in the facebook page a few posts up, seems like it's just a good coincidence
[editline]e[/editline]
also seems to be the other clip referenced to discredit it, but whatever. Go see it
Never. I sincerely doubt anyone in Disney's animation studios knows more than the most basic, rudimentary level of 2D cell animation these days.
you'd be very very wrong

Wow, they really did go to the effort of re-dubbing and re-syncing everything. They even redid the Shakira song!

I'm a little surprised that a good synced dub surprises people from America. It's something people in most countries are used to and expect to see. Here is example of a Russian dub:

Disney has really strict quality control when it comes to dubs, so any international dub of a Disney movie is probably going to be p good
Cool beans, it was a alright movie so I don't mind hearing that it did well.
Only fault I had was that it's ending was super abrupt- like as soon as a bad situation happens it's solved in the most random fast way possible to crunch for time.

Kanine West, Fur Fighters, Fleetwood Yak, Guns N' Rodents, Heyena Gomez, Mick Jaguar, Ewe 2, Black Sable, The Beagles, Destiny's Cub, and Catty Perry are all the artist parodies on her MP3 player.
